Test button On the logger, press the test button for 2 seconds. Wait 30 seconds. Pressing the Test button initiates the self-test sequence. For EM60G loggers, the self-test can take about 60s to complete. Both the green and red lights blink together slowly while the logger performs tests.The following actions are part of the self-test sequence: Reboots the EM60G. This ensures internal software restarts and is operating in an expected way. Both status lights stay lit during the reboot. This reboot will not erase data or reset settings. Perform basic functionality testing on internal systems and evaluates the amount of charge in the battery. Both the green and red lights blink together slowly while the logger performs tests.Autodetects connected digital sensors.Establish an internet connection over the cellular network and attempts to communicate with the ZENTRA Cloud servers. After completing the self-tests, theEM60G will indicate success or failure by lighting either the red or green status light. The major carriers that your METER data loggers use (AT&T and T-Mobile) have indicated that 2022 will be the year of the 3G network shutdown. Portions of these carriers' 3G networks are already being shut down. Unfortunately, METER is not informed about where these shutdowns are beginning. We do expect all 3G services to be shut down by the following dates:AT&T: February 28, 2022 T-Mobile: June 2022Complete Global Shutdown: 2025T-MobileT-Mobile continues to support 2G connections in some areas. The 3G cellular technology in METER data loggers will automatically fall back to 2G connections if T-Mobile has service in your area. T-Mobile plans to retire older 2G networks, but no date has been set. 4/27/2021 - updatedT-Mobile has announced that its 3G network will shut down on July 1, 2022. The 2G network remains on schedule to shut down on December 31, 2022. 4G TechnologyMETER recently released a new modem option running on the AT&T, T-Mobile, and VERIZON 4G LTE-M networks. If you are currently in possession of an EM50G or EM50G Solar these loggers will not be upgradeable. They will continue to log your field data, but be unable to transmit it to ZENTRA Cloud once the 3G network is unavailable. If you would like to participate in our trade-up program to upgrade to a 4G ZL6 please contact our sales office. If you are currently in possession of an EM60G or ZL6 with 3G, these loggers are upgradeable to our 4G modem. For more information please contact our sales office. Inspect sensor cables for damage, cuts, abrasions etc. Ensure all 6 batteries are oriented in the correct position. | + | - | + | - | + | - |On the computer board, is there any corrosion or rust visible? Test button On the logger, press the test button for 2 seconds. Wait 30 seconds. Pressing the Test button initiates the self-test sequence. For EM60G loggers, the self-test can take about 60s to complete. Both the green and red lights blink together slowly while the logger performs tests.The following actions are part of the self-test sequence: Reboots the EM60G. This ensures internal software restarts and is operating in an expected way. Both status lights stay lit during the reboot. This reboot will not erase data or reset settings. Perform basic functionality testing on internal systems and evaluates the amount of charge in the battery. Both the green and red lights blink together slowly while the logger performs tests.Autodetects connected digital sensors.Establish an internet connection over the cellular network and attempts to communicate with the ZENTRA Cloud servers. After completing the self-tests, theEM60G will indicate success or failure by lighting either the red or green status light. A solid green light (for approximately 20s) indicates that internal tests passed and, if applicable, there is successful communication over the cellular network.A solid red light indicates an error in the logger, which may include:Corrupt logger firmwareLow batteriesUnsuccessful cellular communicationOther possible status states indicated by the green light labeled OK and the red light labeled ERROR are:The green light gives a short, single blink every 5 seconds to indicate the logger is configured to log sensor data.The green light blinks slowly (1 second on, then 1 second off), to indicate the logger is communicating to a computer or using the cellular module.The green and red lights blink together after pressing the test button, pulling the battery tab, or installing batteries. The major carriers that your METER data loggers use (AT&T and T-Mobile) have indicated that 2022 will be the year of the 3G network shutdown. Portions of these carriers' 3G networks are already being shut down. Unfortunately, METER is not informed about where these shutdowns are beginning. We do expect all 3G services to be shut down by the following dates:AT&T: February 28, 2022 T-Mobile: June 2022Complete Global Shutdown: 2025T-MobileT-Mobile continues to support 2G connections in some areas. The 3G cellular technology in METER data loggers will automatically fall back to 2G connections if T-Mobile has service in your area. T-Mobile plans to retire older 2G networks, but no date has been set. 4/27/2021 - updatedT-Mobile has announced that its 3G network will shut down on July 1, 2022. The 2G network remains on schedule to shut down on December 31, 2022. 4G TechnologyMETER recently released a new modem option running on the AT&T, T-Mobile, and VERIZON 4G LTE-M networks. If you are currently in possession of an EM50G or EM50G Solar these loggers will not be upgradeable. They will continue to log your field data, but be unable to transmit it to ZENTRA Cloud once the 3G network is unavailable. If you would like to participate in our trade-up program to upgrade to a 4G ZL6 please contact our sales office.
