To removable disksAdded support for additional file extensions to the CD jewel case thumbnail rendering (added .oga, .fla, .wv, .m4a, .m4p, .ape and .mpc) Veranderingen voor v9.5 - v9.5.1.0 A free update for all Directory Opus 9 users is now available for download from GP Software. Bugs fixed / minor changes: Several Windows 7 compatibility improvements: Explorer Replacement mode stopped Safely Remove / Eject device from working correctly. Explorer Replacement can now trap the Open command from the context menu of a folder in the Start Menu. Adding the Virtual Machines folder to the Explorer Replacement exclusion list now correctly prevents that folder from being trapped. Opus also adds this folder to the list by default now. Fixed a problem with some context menu items not acting correctly when multiple files are selected (e.g. Windows Media Player - Play and Queue commands now work correctly with multiple files). The SendTo context menu is now compatible with Windows 7 (including when the shift key is held down). The option to add File Collections to the Send To menu now works in Windows 7 (and Vista). Toggling between Details and Thumbnails view modes now works correctly in system namespaces. Reading of Homegroup folders now works correctly. Improved support for Libraries (the "Include in Library" folder context menu now works, the Folder Tree now displays the library member folders, the Tree automatically updates when libraries are modified, and libraries now work correctly as a destination folder).Fixed a crash that could occur when using Universal Explorer (UE) is powerful Windows Explorer replacement software designed to replace the restricted features of the standard Windows Explorer File Manager. It Replace Windows Explorer and don't look back Our unique Explorer Replacement mode provides a full replacement for Windows Explorer. Single or dual pane file display and folder trees; 2xExplorerOne day, probably not entirely unrelated to installation and usage of LiteStep, it turned out that the old workhorse Explorer simply didn't like it's enviroment anymore. Probably it suspected that it was no longer working under a shell that bore its name, became jealous of the newcomer and decided to refuse further cooperation. To cut things short: it started crashing, and often too. This didn't do anything good for neither overall stability nor productivity. So, I asked myself, is there a better working, preferably free, replacement around? And if so, how do I find it? Don't remember the exact answer to the second question, but to the first one the answer quickly turned out to big a big happy yes! 2xExplorer was a pretty small download, completely free and so far it hasn't caused a single problem. It also does everything the usual Explorer does plus a heap more things if you care to find out. The greatest thing is it has two "exploration" windows, window panes, at the same time, plus the tree view.Once you install and run 2xExplorer, you'll leave Explorer and never need to look back. And that's regardless of wether you use the standard Windows shell or some nice replacement. Installation, by the way, is the whole cumbersome process of unzipping the program into a folder of choice, a second or two of painful action :-) ... Okay, the search function isn't as easy to use as Windows' standard one, but nobody's stopping you from using that one.Homepage and download at

The Files Community has released Files 3.6, a major new release of its open-source File Explorer replacement for Windows users.Version 3.6 contains several eye-catching new features, from support for aligning the dual-pane window vertically rather than horizontally to allowing users to add background images to the Files explorer pane on a per-folder basis.Users can switch between pane alignments using Files’ new Actions menu.Files’ dual-pane feature, which helps set it apart from Windows’ own File Explorer tool, allows users to view two separate folder locations side-by-side in the same window. Previously these windows were aligned horizontally, but Files 3.6 now gives users a choice between vertical and horizontal alignment. The feature is accessible from a new Actions menu, which can be opened by clicking the new button in the top-left corner of the Files window. The menu offers options for quickly opening a new window and toggling compact overlay mode as well as giving users a choice of horizontal or vertical panes when choosing to switch to dual-pane view. Once set up, the Action menu then allows users to change the panes’ alignment as well as close the currently active one.Customising individual folder backgrounds allows users to make key locations more visible.Users also gain the ability to customise – on a folder-by-folder basis – the background image displayed in that folder’s Files pane. It’s not yet available as a simple option within Files itself; users must instead navigate to the folder and create a desktop.ini file inside using their text editor. Then add the following two lines, substituting C:\Image.png with the folder and name of the image they wish to use:[FilesApp]Files_BackgroundImage=C:\Image.pngOnce done, save the file, then press F5 in Files to refresh the window.Other notable changes in File 3.6 include improved performance when loading large folders through optimisations to the sorting code, while the sidebar toggle button has been moved to the address toolbar.Full details of these and other improvements, including two new keyboard shortcuts for toggling toolbar visibility (Ctrl + Shift + B) and switching focus between panes (Ctrl + Shift + Right arrow) can be found at the blog post announcing the new version.Files 3.6 is available now as a free, open-source download for PCs running Windows 10 and 11.Files 3.9.1An open source Explorer replacement for Windows 10Freeware
