The app, named Samsung Internet for Android, allows users to intuitively browse the web and enjoy content in a more immersive atmosphere without having to download content on to smartphones, the company said in a statement. The new Gear VR web browser supports 360-degree as well as 3D videos as well as standard HTML5 videos. Samsung Internet for Android supports voice recognition and comes with an on-screen keyboard. The browser also has a Gaze Mode that enables users to select menus by simply gazing at them. It can transfer bookmarks from the mobile browser when synced. Other key features of the new Gear VR app are Quick Access, Bookmarks and Tab Manager.
