Since the features from shallow to deep layers are output to the last convolutional layer, the utilization of features can be effectively improved and the incidence of gradient disappearance can be effectively reduced. However, feature reuse requires a larger amount of memory. If the load is exceeded, the memory of the GPU will explode when training the model. Furthermore, although densely connected blocks are easy to do gradient backpropagation, it is computationally complex.
