Firefox is a commonly used browser with many extensions. Compared with ie, it has many advantages, but some minor aspects seem to be poorly considered. For example, users often encounter problems such as system reinstallation, which requires importing and exporting cookies and folders of Firefox browser. Unfortunately, Firefox only provides the function of importing cookies and favorites of ie by default, After some attempts, I found a way to manually import and export Firefox cookies and favorites here.Cookies:“Firefox: profiles” and “my folder” are selected first, and then “Firefox: profiles” and “my folder” are selected, and then “my folder” is selected at the end, and “my folder” is displayed at random. After entering this directory, find cookies Txt and bookmarks HTML two files, which are cookies and favorites files. Copy these two files to a similar directory on another machine and overwrite the files with the same name to complete the export and import of cookies and favorites of Firefox. Bookmark:In addition, Firefox favorites (bookmarks) can also be exported directly through menu options. The specific method is to open Firefox, click “bookmark – > bookmark management” to start the bookmark manager, and click “file – > export” to back up the existing bookmarks. On another machine, use the “import” function of bookmarks to import the backup bookmarks into the configuration of the new Firefox. The last method is to use the Firefox plug-in. If you feel you trust Google, you can install the Google Browser Sync plug-in developed by Google. You can save your Firefox settings such as bookmarks, history, saved passwords and cookies into your own Google account. You can use your Google account to log in and synchronize the contents of the browser on another machine. Of course, please do not use this plug-in in unsafe places such as Internet cafes, otherwise it will bring great security problems. How do I turn on cookies in firefox? - GB Times

In this article, I’ll be showing you how to set up Firefox to clear browsing history on closing, including cookies, while still retaining log-ins. The article is in response to a question received from one of our readers who wanted to know how to set up Firefox to remember account usernames but not necessarily passwords. On the old SeaMonkey browser I used, when I for instance logged onto Facebook, then logged out, then a few days later went to logon again it held the Facebook username name I had used (but not the password) and I just entered the password and carried on. With Firefox, no matter how I’ve gone through the myriad options I always get a blank username (and naturally a blank password). The short answer is that there is no way in popular modern browsers to do that. It is a case of both (username and password) or neither. That said, there are settings in Firefox that allow users to stay logged into accounts while still automatically deleting other browser history and cookies on closing. What You Need To Know About CookiesFirst off, you need to know a little about the function of cookies. When you visit a website a tiny piece of data called a “cookie” is saved to your web browser. Cookies contain information about your site preferences and other details relevant to each particular site. There are, essentially, two main types of cookies:Session cookies: which are temporary and usually expire when you close the browserPersistent cookies: these are the cookies that retain your log-in information (username and password) and do not expire until either a specific date or length of time as set by that site’s adminWhen the browser is set to delete all cookies on closing, unless exceptions are set, those persistent cookies will also be deleted including log-in details. In other words, you will be logged out. I will show you how to clear browsing history in Firefox on closing while still retaining log-ins so you don’t need to keep signing in– at least, not until the persistent cookie expires. This is achieved through a series of settings.Retain Log-ins In FirefoxClick the three little horizontal lines at the far right of the address bar and then click Options:On the left side of the Options window click Privacy & SecurityScroll down to Cookies and Site Data and make sure the option to Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed is NOT enabledScroll down a little further until you see HistoryUnder History, enable the option to Clear history when Firefox closes and then click the associated Settings buttonIn the window that opens, you can now select what you want to keep and what you want to deletePlace a checkmark next to (enable) everything you want deleted on closing but do NOT enable Active Logins. Then click OKFrom here on in whenever you close Firefox at the end of a session your selected browsing history will be automatically deleted but any existing log-ins will remain active.Firefox Users May Have To Turn On Cookies To Use Google

Mozilla Turns on Total Cookie Protection for All Firefox Users
Collusion, a Firefox add-on that lets you see which ad network or service is tracking your online browsing activities, has been renamed to Lightbeam for Firefox. I wrote about Collusion sometime back in July of this year (see Collusion: See who’s tracking you – in real-time) and since then, I’ve been using it to keep an eye on which ad networks are storing cookies in Firefox. Not that it makes any difference to the ad nerworks, but at least it keeps me informed. What I find most interesting about what Lightbeam for Firefox tells me is that if Firefox is configured to accept third-party cookies, the number of trackers is just about the same as when Firefox is configured to reject them. This screen shot shows a graph when Firefox is not accepting third-party cookies. And this one shows when third-party coolies are being accepted. Not much difference in the number of cookies being stored by Firefox. Lightbeam is a cool add-on to have. To install it, search for “collusion” of “lightbeam” from Firefox’s add-on tool.Firefox Turns On Total Cookie Protection by Default

Mozilla plans to release Firefox 110.0.1 Stable later today. The new stable version of the Firefox web browser fixes security issues in the browser as well as crashes and other non-security issues. Firefox users may select Menu > Help > About Firefox to display the version that is installed on their device. The browser checks for updates when the about page is opened, and it will download any update that it finds to the local system to install note. Please note that the update may not be available yet, if you are reading this on February 28,2023. The new Firefox release is a security update first and foremost. Mozilla does not reveal information about security updates before the actual release. We will update the article once the information is published by Mozilla. Firefox 110.0.1 fixes five non-security issues, including one crash. Three of the fixed issues affect specific operating systems. Here is the overview: Firefox's function to clear recent cookies caused all cookies to be cleared. The option is found under Menu > History > Clear Recent History. There, Firefox users may select to clear data from the last hour, two or four hours, or day. Data includes cookies, but may also include the browsing and download history, active logins, and other data. Fixed a CSP serialization bug that caused issues with Denmark's MitID Digital ID. On Windows, activation of the manage bookmarks link did not always result in the opening of the bookmarks manager; the button did not respond to clicks if the bookmarks toolbar was empty. On Linux, Mozilla fixed a WebGL crash when the system was run inside a VMWare virtual machine. On Mac OS, Mozilla addressed a bug that caused context menus to sometimes display in the background instead of the foreground. Other Firefox user interface elements were sometimes displayed in the foreground instead. The official release notes will be published here. Outlook The next major Firefox Stable release is scheduled for March 14, 2023. Now You: have you updated Firefox already? 2025-04-21Firefox is a commonly used browser with many extensions.
