I have a lot of images on my laptop as I work in graphics. On the same system, I also have a folder containing my family pictures.I would like to do two things:Empty the already cached imagesand then "blacklist" or exclude the folder holding the family pictures as I use Shotwell for organizing/adding/deleting these filesIn the settings of Nautilus you can only change global settings.Any ideas? asked Mar 8, 2011 at 13:49 Thumbnails are stored in ~/.cache/thumbnails. Simply deleting everything in there will reset your thumbnails, causing them to be recreated according to the global settings. I'm afraid I can't think of a way to prevent a specific directory from being thumbnailed.Note: In Ubuntu 12.04 (Precise Pangolin) and older, the thumbnails are stored in ~/.thumbnails. But please verify this for your own distro. Lubuntu 12.10 (a clean install) has its thumbnails in ~/.thumbnails and there is no thumbnails subfolder in ~/.cache. answered Mar 8, 2011 at 14:12 ScaineScaine11.2k5 gold badges47 silver badges58 bronze badges 3 BleachBit can wipe your thumbnail cache, I believe. The computer will put up a warningabout applying registry files. Say "yes". Then reboot. If you now go to a folder containing MPO files, you should see both a thumbnail andsetting when you click on the file. You can also change the view to "thumbnails" and see the whole folder as thumbnail images. If you apply the file, but don't see thumbnails when you go to a folder with MPOs in it, you may need to clear the thumbnail cache, so Windows will generate new thumbnails for files you've already looked at. Some links to tutorials about how to do that are linked below, or just search for "clear thumbnail cache windows 10" or substitute Windows 7 or whatever you're using.Clearing the thumbnail cache in Windows 10Clearing the thumbnail cache in Windows 7Note for IE usersFor some reason, IE seems to change the extension of .REG files to .HTM. If you download the individual files, you may need to rename them from (something).htm to (something).reg.Alternatively, here's a ZIP file with all three registry files in it:All files in one ZIPKnown problemsOn XP, the slideshow feature doesn't work, and the "filmstrip" view option for folders doesn't work.
