This week on the blog, Hostess Jo shows us her spooky porch masterpiece!“It’s the most wonderful time of the year…..” No, not Christmas……FALL! Don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas too. Fall is just packed with fun and less stress! The cooler temps (if you aren’t in Alabama!), the colorful leaves, pumpkin picking, and of course Halloween! I was super excited when Old Time Pottery asked me if I wanted to collaborate on a Halloween Porch Project! Halloween has always been my favorite holiday. Spooky fun, costumes and treats, you can’t beat that! Old Time Pottery has the perfect spooky décor. These jack-o-lantern planters are my favorite. If you aren’t that into Halloween you can turn them around for a pretty pumpkin planter. If you love signs, they have a terrific selection at great prices. Both of these signs and this adorable door hanger are from Old Time Pottery. They also have a ton of faux pumpkins in all shapes and colors. They look so realistic! I was going for a witch theme with the hanging hats and these witch legs just completed the look! And who could have a Halloween porch without skeletons… The pillows, skeletons, lantern and pumpkins are all from Old Time Pottery. So much fun! My kids really get a kick out of all these decorations. We like the cuter Halloween décor more than the gory! A lot of times people associate Halloween with tacky, but I think this porch shows you can decorate for Halloween in a stylish way. I hope you enjoyed this tour of our Spooky Porch! You’ve still got time to decorate your own porch for Halloween. Thank you to Old Time Pottery for providing such adorable Halloween décor!XOXO,Jo

I (@southernsurroundings) think there is one last room of our new house I haven't shown you-the office! We had our cabinet maker build a great desk with built-ins for it. We had them painted in the same dark grey of our laundry room (Iron Mountain by Benjamin Moore). We also used the same natural color butcher block for the desk top as the laundry room. This piece itself transformed the whole office. I knew it would be a great place to store books but I was a little stumped as to what to do with the rest of the shelves. After a trip to Old Time Pottery, I had a plan in mind!I knew we need a piece of artwork for the blank wall above the monitor. I loved this neutral forest print with the gold frame from Old Time Pottery. It fits the space perfectly and the gold pops with the grey.Old Time Pottery has so many baskets to choose from. I love how their natural color goes with the butcher block and really stands out against the dark shelves. Bonus-you can hide things in them you might now want to see.Every shelf and needs a little greenery to give it some life. I found so many cute faux plants there. Now onto accessories! My next stop was the pottery aisle. These wood tone and white vases really stand out here. Old Time Pottery has beautiful pottery. It was easy to choose different colors and sizes. The gold sphere and globe compliment the gold picture frame. Oh and no office is complete without a clock. There was still something missing when I stepped back. I played around with my arrangement and added in some books for height and texture.A trick I learned is to turn your books with the spine inside if you

Joanna is on the blog today with a fall DIY! It's that time of year again! There's already a change in the air here in Alabama. Even though it is still hot outside the change gets you in the mood for FALL! I've added some simple seasonal touches around the house. I'm keeping my fall décor pretty neutral and minimal this year. I've been happiest with a more simplified look since we moved.I was so excited to work with Old Time Pottery again and their fabulous fall floral department! I decided to create a different style of wreath to go with my current décor.I found everything I needed for this wreath at Old Time Pottery, even the glue sticks! They have a great variety of florals for any color scheme you could want. I loved these pretty neutral stems. I also purchased the burlap to cover the styrofoam wreath form there. They have tons of different ribbons.I have never made this style of wreath. Usually I use the grapevine form and weave the florals into it.For this one, I started by wrapping the form in burlap. It gave it great texture.I didn't glue any of the burlap. It was really easy to just wrap it and pin it.I always trim the floral bunches into single stems. They are easier to work with and you have more room to place them anyway you want. Then I began playing around with how I wanted the florals to look. I decided to go with an asymmetrical look.My favorite are the feathery grass stems! For this wreath, I hot glued all of the florals directly to the burlap. It was super easy. Once you decide how you want it to look, you just start layering.Old Time Pottery has everything you need to get crafty. Different types of wreath forms, ribbon, glue guns, floral wire etc.I really love how this one turned out! When I went to hang it, the florals were heavier than I thought and that made it turn more but I really like it like this! What do you think of this style? Will you be making any wreaths this season?I love that this one goes with anything! I hope you're inspired to try making your own unique wreath! For all of your craft and floral needs be sure to check out Old Time Pottery!Thank you Old Time Pottery for providing me with everything to make this beauty!!
