Rubinar made some fabulous lenses - I have the 1000mm f/10 that I've taken around the world chasing eclipses, and used at EFL's up to 12,000mm f/120 coupled afocally to a 3-ccd camcorder, at 12X zoom, isolating solar prominences, with no image breakdown. The images in the sets are single frame clips, and theruby red chromosphere my main interest as is obvious! For the 2nd link, I used an HD camcorder, but alas!, no amazing detached prominences as with the first, but detail in the smaller prominences is much better, with even "hedgerow" prominences seen.Since video avoids shutter vibration, I'll use my GH-2 in FHD video mode directly coupled to the Rubinar for the upcoming annular eclipse of 5/20, which I plan to view in northern California near the Klamath River mouth. As there will be no totality, no prominences will be seen unless with a dedicated H-alpha band solar scope. For starters, what's your OS? How input sources are handled begins in setup before it gets to the DAW. This is different for Mac (Audio MIDI Setup.app) and Windows.If that's where the problem lies, MOTU Support can walk you through this. Have you? I know that's what Trim Enabler does and, for $10 ( paid the shareware fee), I'm happy not to be bothered with it.
