I broke the counterbalance off in highwinds on the ground last Sunday. So with some CA and Loctite/Hysol E120 I repaired it and let it sit for 48 hours. I then recovered it with a combination of Monokote and Ultracoat, and used the acetone for the stripes and the trim. The reason I used some of each was that’s what the local hobby store here in Jupiter, Florida had in stock, so I thought what the heck I’d try it. Lay the pieces in the sun for a hour and the monokote would tear apart before it would come undone.
