SMART (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology) is a system built into hard drives by their manufacturers to report on various measurements(called attributes) of a hard drive’s operation. The attributes can be used to detect when a hard drive is having mechanical or electrical problems, and can indicate when the hard drive is failing. SMART Utility can read and display these attributes. This allows time to hopefully backup, and then replace the drive. SMART Utility also allows running a drive’s built in self test, which can also indicate malfunctions on the drive.WHY USE SMART UTILITY?SMART Utility is different from other drive utilities, such as Disk Utility, which only read the overall SMART Status. SMART Utility not only displays the individual attributes to see their status and information, but it also uses an internal algorithm based on those attributes to detect drives failing before SMART indicates it has failed. This pre-fail detection can save precious data before SMART has determined that the drive has failed. And, while the raw information can be viewed on the command line with smartmontools (which is what SMART Utility is based on, SMART Utility presents it in an easy to read format, as well as running its internal pre-fail algorithm. Plus, with the ability to run self tests, problems can be detected even sooner.FEATURESDisplays all supported internal drives and their partitions, as well as some external drives (if optional SAT SMART driver is installed)Displays important information in the main window, such as drive model, capacity, power on hours, temperature, bad sector counts, and error counts and typesDisplays easy to read overall SMART status with color coded textDisplays more detailed information in separate windows, including capabilities, all available attributes, and the past five errorsDisplays information using the Growl notification service (if installed) and email notifications (if configured)Displays information in menu barSupports scanning in the backgroundSupports running a hard drive’s built-in test, and displays the results of the testSupports scanning OS X software RAID drives, as well as drives in many RAID enclosures and cards (including SeriTek drives)Supports logging all information to a log file for verifying SMART dataSupports customizing the pre-fail algorithm, including only alerting new bad sectors and error countsSupports. This can be used across electricity, gas, water, heating, and waste utilities. SUMMARYMailEnable will always check for local delivery above sending the message to any remote server. So MX records and DNS settings are ignored if the domain is configured locally. To override this behaviour requires a system utility that redirects all emails to the specified local postoffice back out the SMTP service. The domains for the postoffice must be smarthosted to an external IP address for it to do this.DETAILThe MERoute utility will change a setting for the postoffice to force any mail being delivered to the postoffice to ignore the local mapping of an email address to a mailbox. This redirects all the email to the postoffice to the SMTP service outbound queue instead. The domain smarthost setting is then used to send the email to the remote server. To use the utility:1. Smart host all the domains under the postoffice to the desired target mail server. This is configured under the domain properties in the administration program by enabling the Act as Smart Host checkbox.2. Use the MERoute utility and select the checkbox next to the postoffice name. The domains must remain enabled, otherwise the SMTP service will not accept email for them in order to route them. One possible usage of the utility is when a postoffice is being migrated off to another server. If the current server is configured to redirect the email, any delayed MX updates will not cause bounced email. To summarise, the new server needs to be configured and have the email data and configuration migrated across. Then, smart host the domains to the new server and use the MERoute utility to force the smart hosting rules over local delivery. Unzip the utility into the MailEnable BIN directory on the current server.MORE INFORMATIONMERoute Utility: Product: MailEnable Version: Custom: Custom: Custom: Custom: Custom: Custom: Custom: Custom: Custom: All Versions Category: Module: General Keywords: Local outbound local force external smarthosting smarthost smart host smart Class: TRB: Troubleshooting (Configuration or Environment) Created: Revision Date:Sun, 9 May 2004 15:07:20 -1200

May 10, 2014 5:56 PM in response to gtwva This is unlikely caused by a bad hard drive.Open Disk Utility. Select the topmost drive entry on the left sidebar. Check the status area at the bottom of the window. If SMART is "Verified," then your drive is OK. May 10, 2014 6:25 PM in response to gtwva If you are running OS X "Lion" or later, boot OS X Recovery by holding ⌘ and r (two fingers) while you start your Mac Pro. For Snow Leopard or earlier, start your Mac while holding the c key with its original OS X Install DVD inserted in its optical drive. At the Mac OS X Utilities screen, select Disk Utility. Select your startup volume (usually named "Macintosh HD") and click the Repair Disk button. Describe any errors it reports in red. If Disk Utility reports "The volume Macintosh HD appears to be OK" in green then you can be reasonably (though not completely) assured your hard disk is in good working order. May 10, 2014 7:25 PM in response to John Galt - The SMART Status gives you some assurance that there are not massive numbers of Bad Blocks on the drive.- The Disk Utility (Repair Disk) tells you the Directory [Scoreboard of what file is where] on the drive is in pretty good shape.+ The two of them, used together, give you the warm fuzzy feeling that things are OK, without taking Hours to do so. May 15, 2014 11:59 AM in response to gtwva Normally if you have a hard drive problem it manifests itself with delays, periodic locks-ups, I/O errors, etc.during notrmal use, not just start ups and slow downs.Never the less, you asked how you check the health of a drive, so I'll answer. You can check the SMART status of your drive with Disk Utility or a free tool like smartctl in the smartmontools package. Disk Utility will typically report the SMART status of your drive as "verified" or a message associated with a type of failure right in the Disk Utility window. SMART status will be reported

Within the forex market. 🧠📈Smart Calculator vs. EASY Bots: A Strategic Overview 🧠When evaluating the Smart Calculator against the renowned EASY Bots, such as EASY Trendopedia, it’s essential to discern their unique strengths and weaknesses. The Smart Calculator is a tool oriented towards enhancing a trader’s understanding of margin calculations and risk management with a primary focus on simplicity. It serves as an excellent utility for manual traders, offering straightforward calculations that help manage lot sizes and potential risks effectively. However, its utility is somewhat limited to the realm of basic calculations and doesn’t automate or streamline actual trading decisions. In contrast, the EASY Bots, including the EASY Trendopedia, empower traders with advanced automation that goes beyond mere calculations. These bots incorporate sophisticated algorithms designed to adapt to changing market conditions, generate trading signals, and execute trades automatically. With capabilities to analyze multiple indicators and make decisions without human intervention, they encompass a broader trading strategy than the Smart Calculator. Nevertheless, traders need to exercise caution; while EASY Bots can enhance profitability, they also introduce the risk of dependency on automated systems without sufficient market understanding. Thus, both tools serve different purposes. Your choice should align with whether you favor manual control with the Smart Calculator or opt for automation with the EASY Bots. 📊⚙️Understanding the Impact of User Ratings ⭐Achieving a rating of 4.67 is no small feat for the Smart Calculator, and it speaks volumes about trader satisfaction and the tool’s perceived value in the competitive forex landscape. This impressive score indicates that many users find the Smart Calculator to be an effective utility in enhancing their trading strategies. A high rating generally reassures potential users that they are considering a reliable product backed by the experiences of others, making the Smart Calculator a compelling choice for both novice and seasoned traders. 🌟📈However, it’s essential to delve deeper into what this rating reflects and what it does not guarantee. While positive reviews highlight its utility and simplicity, traders should remain cautious and not let ratings alone dictate their choices. Customer experiences can vary widely; for every glowing review, there may be mixed or negative feedback regarding performance in live conditions. Thus, while the Smart Calculator’s rating is encouraging, it should encourage potential users to assess their own trading requirements and expectations rather than viewing it as a guaranteed solution for success in all situations. Remember, user ratings can guide
