Direct link to this answer ⋮ Direct link to this answer In the Signal Processing Toolbox, the [z,p,k] output is optional for several filter design functions. Use those with (for example) zp2sos or others to design the filter to be used with filtfilt to filter a signal. 2 Comments Direct link to this comment ⋮ Link Direct link to this comment Thank you,I have to add some parts to an existing program which is using zpk. Is there any toolbox in which the zpk is included? Direct link to this comment ⋮ Link Direct link to this comment There are sevral. One zpk is in the Control System Toolbox, another zpk (introduced in R2014a) is in the Signal Processing Toolbox. (There are others as well, however I do not have those Toolboxes.) Choose the one that works in the context of what you are doing. Sign in to comment. Direct link to this answer ⋮ Direct link to this answer Hi,While there is no "zpk" function in the Signal Processing Toolbox, there is a method called "zpk" of the object "digitalFilter". If you have the Signal Processing Toolbox, you can call the "zpk" function if the input is a digitalFilter object. Here's an example:hpFilt = designfilt('highpassiir','FilterOrder',8, ... 'PassbandFrequency',75e3,'PassbandRipple',0.2, ... 'SampleRate',200e3);[z,p,k] = zpk(hpFilt); You can learn more about it here: See Also Categories Community Treasure Hunt Find the treasures in MATLAB Central and discover how the community can help you! 2025-04-24Perform signal processing and analysisRelease NotesPDF DocumentationSignal Processing Toolbox™ provides functions and apps to manage, analyze, preprocess, and extract features from uniformly and nonuniformly sampled signals. The toolbox includes tools for filter design and analysis, resampling, smoothing, detrending, and power spectrum estimation. You can use the Signal Analyzer app for visualizing and processing signals simultaneously in time, frequency, and time-frequency domains. With the Filter Designer app you can design and analyze FIR and IIR digital filters. Both apps generate MATLAB® scripts to reproduce or automate your work.Using toolbox functions, you can prepare signal datasets for AI model training by engineering features that reduce dimensionality and improve the quality of signals. You can access and process collections of files and large datasets using signal datastores. With the Signal Labeler app, you can annotate signal attributes, regions, and points of interest to create labeled signal sets. The toolbox supports GPU acceleration in addition to C/C++ and CUDA® code generation for desktop prototyping and embedded system deployment.Get Started Learn the basics of Signal Processing ToolboxSignal Analysis and VisualizationVisualize, preprocess, and explore signals using Signal Analyzer appSignal Generation and PreprocessingCreate, resample, smooth, denoise, and detrend signalsMeasurements and Feature ExtractionPeaks, signal statistics, pulse and transition metrics, power, bandwidth, distortionTransforms, Correlation, and ModelingCross-correlation, autocorrelation, Fourier, DCT, Hilbert, Goertzel, parametric modeling, linear predictive codingDigital and Analog FiltersFIR and IIR, single-rate and multirate filter design, analysis, and implementationSpectral AnalysisPower spectrum, coherence, windowsTime-Frequency AnalysisSpectrogram, synchrosqueezing, reassignment, Wigner-Ville, time-frequency marginals, data-adaptive methodsVibration AnalysisOrder analysis, time-synchronous averaging, envelope spectra, modal analysis, rainflow countingAI for SignalsSignal labeling, feature engineering, dataset generation, anomaly detectionCode Generation and GPU SupportGenerate portable C/C++/MEX functions and use GPUs to deploy or accelerate processing
2025-04-20From signals. Time-frequency transformations, such as the short-time Fourier transform (STFT) can be used as signal representations for training data in machine learning and deep learning models. Automatic feature extraction techniques like wavelet scattering can be used to reduce dimensionality and extract important features. These features can be used directly for diagnosis or as input to machine learning and deep learning classifiers. Time-frequency analysis used to extract features from ECG signals for classification. After developing the signal processing algorithms, you can prototype designs and create proofs-of-concept by automatically generating real-time code. You can also generate VHDL and Verilog code to deploy signal processing algorithms on devices such as FPGAs and ASICs in order to prototype and build low-power medical devices. MATLAB Coder™ and Embedded Coder™ allow you to generate optimized C/C++ code to deploy the algorithms on embedded hardware. High-performance GPUs can be used to speed up preprocessing, feature extraction, and model inference. For more details, see Signal Processing Toolbox™ and Wavelet Toolbox™ Examples and How To Customer Stories Examples Software Reference See also: DSP System Toolbox™, Statistics and Machine Learning Toolbox™, embedded code generation, GPUs for signal processing algorithms in MATLAB
