First announced as a PS4 exclusive, the shooter is newly confirmed for PC and is expected to release on April 20. The four human players experience the game as a first-person shooter, while the fifth, the Predator, plays from a third-person perspective in a fashion reminiscent of Evolve. In a video released today, studio IllFonic (Friday the 13th: The Game) details some of the customisation options for the Predator, while also demonstrating that this game pulls absolutely no punches when it comes to gore.Predator weaponry ranges the expected crossbow, through to a "Smart Disc" which works like some deadly frisbee. Avant toute chose, je tiens à préciser que cet avis n'est pas définitif, puisque le jeu continue d'être mis à jour. Si davantage de contenu arrive par la suite, je mettrai ma review à jour.Predator : Hunting Grounds est donc un jeu développé par la petite équipe de IllFonic et édité par Sonic Interactive Entertainment et sorti en avril 2020 sur PS4 et PC sur l'Epic Games Store (puis Steam depuis avril 2021). Que vaut donc ce jeu ?Scénario : Le jeu étant un jeu multijoueur, le jeu ne dispose pas de mode histoire ce qui, pour ma part est dommage mais compréhensible. Non noté / 20Gameplay / Jouabilité : Comme dit précédemment, Predator : Hunting Grounds est un jeu multijoueur donc les joueurs sont répartis entre deux camps : le camp humain incarné par les commandos et un Predator unique. Le jeu nous laisse au choix un mode multijoueur classique et un mode local. Le mode mutijoueur est cependant assez mal fichu car possédant des temps d'attente interminables pour incarner le Predator. Pour ma part, il manque un mode solo. Le jeu nous propose 2 modes de jeu (le mode "traque" avec Humains vs Predator et "affrontement" avec humains uniquement) et 6 maps. Le point positif sur ce point est le fait qu'il n'y avait que 3 maps à l'origine, deux ont été rajoutées via des MAJ gratuites. En revanche, petit bémol pour ma part : les maps se ressemblent beaucoup (toutes des jungles bien que les 2 dernières sont plus originales). Une option pour personnaliser les 2 modes proposés a été implémentée dans le jeu récemment, ce qui est plutôt pas mal. Dans le jeu, le gameplay en commando est assez simpliste et ressemble énormément à tout jeu mutli avec des armes à feu. Un peu simpliste, bien que -point positif- on nous propose des missions variées dans le jeu. C'est surtout du côté Predator que le jeu est intéressant, on nous propose une ribambelle d'armes fidèles aux films. Du canon plasma au simple pistolet, de l'arc au disque de Predator 2, au filet rétrécissant, etc., on ne manque pas de moyens pour zigouiller de l'humain et ça fait plaisir. Avec le predator, on peut se camoufler dans la jungle, imiter des bruits (comme le célèbre 'Want some candy ?'), faire des coups furtifs, se soigner, prendre des trophées... bref, un gameplay à la Predator. Je regrette peut-être le fait qu'on soit un peu trop guidé niveau commandes, ou que certains points du gameplay ne sont pas parfaits. Les soldats I.A. n'apportent pas grand chose si ce n'est de l'expérience. Certains points du gameplay manquent de finitions. Certains points ont en revanche été améliorés en 1 an, comme. La vie du Predator qui était au début relativement basse et qui a été augmentée depuis. Bref, à part le gameplay du Predator qui est super, gameplay plutôt classique. 14/20Graphismes : Nous pouvons remarquer que les graphismes de ce jeu ont bien des années de retard. Textures parfois un peu plates, le contact du joueur avec l'environnement parfois un peu hasardeux. C'est pas extraordinaire mais ça reste pourtant joli et agréable. La jungle est bien modélisée. Mention spéciale aux designs du Predator qui sont quant à eux magnifiques. 16/20Bande-son : La bande-son est correcte et propose une VF. Les effects sonores de l'environnement sont bien faits et ceux du Predator très fidèles aux films. Les musiques quant à elles, sont décentes et ont un air des musiques d'Alan Silvestri. 15/20Compatibilité : Un point faible du jeu. La compatibilité peut parfois varier, et bien que généralement très fluide, on observe parfois quelques chutes de fps. Sachant que les graphismes sont datés, on est surpris de voir une carte graphique telle qu'une GTX des séries 10 avoir du mal à certains moments. 11/20Autres : Le jeu offre un système de niveau et récompenses intéressant avec l'ouverture que caisses. En gagnant de l'exp, on gagne également une monnaie virtuelle, le vibranium, permettant d'acheter des contenus payants. Un menu de personnalisation est présent. Il est bon mais manque un peu en possibilité, on regrette ne pas avoir totalement la main mise sur la façon d'habiller notre Predator/commando pour les rendre plus personnalisables et que cela influence justement le gameplay (par ex : on enlève des pièces d'armures du Predator pour le rendre plus rapide mais aussi moins résistant). Certes, on a différentes classes débloquables pour ça, mais ça ne change pas grand chose. Dommage. 13/20En résumé, Predator Hunting Grounds, contrairement à ce que prétendent certains joueurs, n'est pas une arnaque. Certes le prix est un peu élevé à mon goût (40 euros), et le jeu n'est pas parfait, manque un peu d'ambition, de contenu, d'optimisation mais les MAJ gratuites apportent des ajouts intéressants et fixent des problèmes génants. Malgré ça il reste un jeu très sympa à jouer -surtout du point de vue du Predator-, et peut devenir bien meilleur d'ici quelques années. Lire la suite... Too.
