January 18, 2023, 4:44am 1 I just finished the quest where Malfurion is chosen to replace Ysera in Ardenweld. Where exactly did this come from? Why didn’t Ysera, The Winter Queen, Malfurion, and most importantly imo Chromie or Nozdormu mention this or hint at it prior… at all? Isn’t that something that jacks with the timelines if all this time Malfurion was meant to die instead of Ysera? Also, this whole ruleset of there needing to be someone who replaces her in Ardenweald if she ever wants to return. Was this ever mentioned in Shadowlands because I don’t recall the Winter Queen bringing this up? It just feels like some made up story beat they decided on last minute so Ysera could become relevant again, but idk. Just seeing if anyone else found it mentioned prior to this questline. “Because we have no idea how to deal with this kind of character and lost our ability to write his stories”(Blizz) From my understanding, it’s supposed to be temporary and Ysera will eventually go back to ShadowlandsIt’s like a WWE tap inMy question though is… if Ysera dies, does that mean Malfurion stays stuck in the Shadowlands? If my theory is correct, killing Ysera right now = double kill Correct, he’ll be back eventually. I wonder if they regret killing off Ysera instead of Malfurion back in Legion, tried to “course-correct” it because they wanted Ysera to be relevant for the dragon expansion, but fan outcry over the datamined text made them pivot again to make Malfurion’s Ardenweald stay a temporary one. It feels like the two characters have been yoyo-ed since the quest dialogue doesn’t feel like it properly matches up with the cutscene with him. for me it was them trying to play it up as though it was some big sacrifice, and we should feel all emotional about it and stuff.but like… -is- it really a sacrifice though?first, its only temporary, so he’s gonna come back at some point.secondly, yeah they mention that its getting harder to cross into the shadowlands now, but harder does not mean impossible, so
Malfurion finally fights the Legion but it ends with disaster
Druids prepared the tree,[9] and he blew on the Horn of Cenarius to summon forth hundreds of nature spirits to defeat Archimonde, who was about to rip Nordrassil in order to gain control of the second Well of Eternity,[10] thereby sacrificing the night elves' immunity to diseases and aging, and causing a devastating shockwave which destroyed the Legion, and heavily damaged Nordrassil. Fandral Staghelm believed that planting a new World Tree, Teldrassil, would restore the night elves' immortality. However, Teldrassil was not blessed by the Aspect of Time, Nozdormu, who was the one to give immortality to the night elves through Nordrassil.[11]During World of Warcraft, a splinter of Nordrassil was used to recreate the sacred staff [Benediction].Cataclysm[] Nordrassil. This section concerns content related to Cataclysm. In World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, Nordrassil has fully regrown but the elemental Lord Ragnaros has set his forces to attack the tree, with the goal of destroying it. Malfurion, having returned from the Emerald Dream, along with the armies of Cenarius are defending the World Tree.[12][13][14]Ysera, Alexstrasza, and Nozdormu later gathered with Malfurion and Thrall to restore Nordrassil.[15] Legion[] This section concerns content related to Legion.A dream portal opens up by the shores of the Well of Eternity, nestled within the roots of Nordrassil itself, allowing druids exclusive access to the Emerald Dreamway. While attempting to cleanse the branch of G'Hanir from corruption, the druid hero and Lyessa Bloomwatcher come upon the aftermath of a terrible battle. Nordrassil itself is unharmed, but the Burning Legion was able to destroy most of the Well of Eternity. There they aid Omnuron, Hamuul Runetotem, Zen'tabra and Celestine in fighting back the Pit Lord Destromath, protecting the last vestiges of the stricken Well. After the battle, some of its magical waters yet remain and, according to Celestine, as long as at least one drop remains there is still hope.[16]The druid hero returns here with the most senior of the Cenarion Circle as they attempt to commune with the spirit of Malorne. They discover that he has become trapped within the Nightmare and resolve to rescue him. The Dreamway Portal at Nordrassil The Well of Eternity in Legion. Battle for Azeroth[] Nordrassil on Hyjal as seen in Dark Abduction During the Fourth War, Azerite scars and elementals appeared in the area under the World Tree, disturbing the local faerie dragons. Anyway here are some of my predictions, based on what I've see/heard, plus a few of my own. Some of these will be quite unlikely, but here goesCries of the AspectsAlly with the Dragon AspectsNot sure of the location this map will take place in, possibly somewhere in Ashenvale (this chapter was previously called Giants of Ashenvale)Red and Bronze Dragonflights are fighting the legion. Illidan and the Highborne are also here. Illidan is trying to gain the allegiance of Alexstrasza. He runs into Malfurion, and the two square off in a duel, Tyrande shows up with Alexstrasza and helps Furion win. Alexstrasza tells Illidan he is serving a dark power and he retreats. Noticing he has Naga with him, Furion has the option to pursue some of them (Realm of the Tides). While on the way to Nozdormu, Furion senses another fountain of power. He goes to destroy it, but Magtheridon appears, and serves as the boss battle for this chapter. Furion then somehow ends up in the Nightmare. Also maybe he never makes it to Nozdormu.Dangerous CrossroadsTyrande asks Cenarius and Medivh what to do, and takes part in the ritual that Medivh did in the Highborne campaign. Also may involve Illidan and Kath'ranis (this interlude was originally called Sorrows of the Quel'dorei). Mother Shahraz comes to negotiate with Illidan, but Illidan kills her instead. Azshara then reveals herself, and Illidan and Kath'ranis realize they have been working for her all along.Eternal NightmareHave done plenty of speculating on this one, but is obviously Tyrande going to search for Malfurion, and Ysera in the Nightmare. That will probably be at the end of the chapter, but since we spend the entire chapter in the Nightmare, we could see a whole bunch of other things Nightmare related. Eredon and Xavius (okay now I'm certain he will show up), are the final bosses. Additionally Kil'Jaeden might send a demon to check on Eredon to see if he's preforming his task, possibly Anetheron, and Tyrande fights him on the way to saving Furion.Final ConflictsFurion and Tyrande realize they made need Illidan's help in combatting the demons. The Legion is attacking the main Naga/Highborne encampment and Furion and Tyrande find a downtrodden Illidan, realizing he's been tricked. Then teams up with Furion and Tyrande. Jaraxxus is the boss battle of this chapter as he killed Velinde earlier (not sure if that's still going to happen), and now IllidanWorld of Warcraft- Legion, Tyrande's Love for Malfurion

Its not like they are permanently seperated even during the time he’s there. he can still get conjugal visits.thirdly, ‘he will have to sleep for a very long time’… yeah… and how is that different from basically any other time? dude has spent like a couple decades awake in the past however many thousands of years, if anything him taking a long nap is just a return to the status quo.so the whole ‘noble sacrifice’ thing just didn’t have any real oomf to it, and it fell flat for me. I’m now picturing Ysera returning to Azeroth in the style of a Stone Cold Steve Austin intro as he’s storming to the ring to mess with Vince Time to rez via timetravel loophole Bad story telling from writers that no longer care or perhaps it isn’t ysera at all… Makes zero sense. Writers are trying to add some kind of weight or deep meaning behind the story, but have no explanation or build up At the time the Winter Queen was somewhat occupied with the Anama problem. Remember how it took us half the original Ardenweld questline just to get her to stand still long enough to give her a simple message? As for Malfurion and Ysear, if you will recall back in Legion Malfurion went off in a rage after a demon who had killed his mentor. Tyrande recruited Ysera and us to go chasing after him. That’s when the demon turned Ysera into a killing machine and we had to kill her.Elune then picked her up and took her off to Ardenweld where we talked the Winter Queen into saving her (“My sister’s pet”). Ysera wouldn’t have been there if Malfurian hadn’t been acting like a dork. Clearly she took his place and that should be reversed. If you did the quest then you should know here return isn’t permanent and Malfurian is just filling in until she returns. Ysera will no longer be an aspect once all is said and done here and Malfurian will switch places If staying in Ardenweald gives him a model update, here areWorld of Warcraft: Legion 64 - Malfurion's Nightmare - YouTube

It feels like the two characters have been yoyo-ed since the quest dialogue doesn’t feel like it properly matches up with the cutscene with him. for me it was them trying to play it up as though it was some big sacrifice, and we should feel all emotional about it and stuff.but like… -is- it really a sacrifice though?first, its only temporary, so he’s gonna come back at some point.secondly, yeah they mention that its getting harder to cross into the shadowlands now, but harder does not mean impossible, so
2025-04-09Druids prepared the tree,[9] and he blew on the Horn of Cenarius to summon forth hundreds of nature spirits to defeat Archimonde, who was about to rip Nordrassil in order to gain control of the second Well of Eternity,[10] thereby sacrificing the night elves' immunity to diseases and aging, and causing a devastating shockwave which destroyed the Legion, and heavily damaged Nordrassil. Tholo Whitehoof and Anren Shadowseeker fought against them and Hyjal Wardens stood

2025-04-09Anyway here are some of my predictions, based on what I've see/heard, plus a few of my own. Jaraxxus is the boss battle of this chapter as he killed Velinde earlier (not sure if that's still going to happen), and now Illidan
