Sep 24, 2009 4:12 AM in response to wehutty Fixes small bugs add's some nice new features for the iTouch and such.... Well worth it I think Sep 24, 2009 4:52 AM in response to wehutty One thing that iTunes 9 broke, that hasn't been addressed in the 9.0.1 update is smart playlists not appearing in the desired sorting order on an iPhone when compared to their sorting order as they appears within iTunes: Example: You create a smart playlist of Podcasts with a playcount of 0 You sort your list of Podcasts in alphabetical order in iTunes by simply clicking on the "name" in the "name" column. - or - you click on "time" in the time column to sort your unplayed Podcasts so that the playlist sorts them by shortest first and so on. Here's the problem... In iTunes 8 the above synced playlist would appear identical on the iPhone as it did in iTunes. In other words, you could listen to your Podcast playlist in the order you desired / setup within iTunes. In iTunes 9, THIS HAS STOPPED WORKING! Is there some way to upgrade iTunes 9 be reverting back to iTunes 8? iTunes 8 just worked. Cheers / Badtastic Sep 24, 2009 6:43 AM in response to wehutty There are no new features (as compared with iTunes 9.0). Any features that would be added to an iPod touch itself would come from an update to the iPod touch OS, not to iTunes. Message was edited by: Dave Sawyer iTunes 12. As I've said, I am using El Capitan 10.11.6 which is a version lower than Sierra.I couldn't update my Mac any further even if I wanted to.Sometime ago, when I plugged in my iPhones to backup/sync with the dock cable, an iTunes update was offered and I had it installed (BTW: the update was done but without changing iTunes version number).Since then no issue, backing up or updating iOS on all my iPhones including the 6s. Dec 9, 2019 7:07 PM in response to Gee-Tar I had the same issue with my new Ipad Mini 5. But, curiously, I updated the IOS from 12. to 13. before I tried to do any Itunes syncing. I then managed to sync my Itunes Photos and Music to my Ipad. When I tried to return to Itunes the next day to continue to finish syncing other items, Itunes started its non-recognition. I spent most of the day going thru Discussions until I found this post. Followed your directions, got the same Ipad correction update, and finished installations. Restarted Itunes, and the Ipad was recognized. of 3 iPhone wont connect to iTunes 12.8.2.3!!!

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. I need the Itune app for my IPad 2 with IOS 9.3.5. If you have a new iPad, you restore the iPad to a backup of the old iPad. If you are doing this with iTunes on the computer, then it is telling you that you need a newer version of iTunes on the computer, not on the iPad(s). If your new iPad has iOS 12.x on it, then you need the latest version of iTunes. You can obtain that for your computer here, iTunes - Upgrade to Get iTunes Now - Apple, depending on what computer OS you are using. There is no iTunes app for the iOS device, only iTunes Store, which allows you to purchase music/movies, and the App Store, which allows for purchase of apps. Nov 23, 2018 9:47 PM in response to ChrisJ4203 Hi Chris,Thanks for your response. I have bought a new iPad and want to transfer the data, photo's etc. The transfer program asks me to install ITunes. When I checked the IPad it only has ITunes Store and not ITunes app itself. So the reason for my questionSteve Nov 23, 2018 9:36 PM in response to stevefromstanmore The iTunes app comes as part of the iOS. To update iTunes, you update iOS. What are you seeing that makes you feel you need to update iTunes app on the iPad? of 1 itunes

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. How can an update be 5GB in size? I've read the existing comments about try this, try that, but everyone is ignoring the elephant in the closet. WHY is an update so huge? I know the download times out with that -3### error. My point is it should never have to wait that long. The size of 14.7.1 on the phone is about 150 mb. But iTunes always insists they're going to download 5GB. For What? iPhone SE Posted on Aug 11, 2021 1:17 PM Similar questions How much available storage is required in order to download said update? I’ve had the same IPhone for a while now, the iphoneXR and I’ve had Storage issues in the past mainly because of all the songs I like to keep but anyways I just want to know how much available storage is required to get the latest iOS update. Thank you! 77 2 Can’t update iPhone via iTunes iTunes won’t update iPhone. It says “Updating to iOS 15.7.2 requires at least 707 MB of free space on your iPhone. Please change your media sync options to make more storage available.” I have 1Gb free on my iPhone (storage on iPhone says this & so does iTunes) & I am syncing nothing with iTunes. Any ideas of how to fix this? 1435 1 iTunes reports that 13.6.1 on my connected iPhone is current, what next? My iPhone reports that IOS 14 is ready to be installed. Rather than go through the motions to free up 3GB of space on my phone, I followed directions and connected to iTunes on my computer to perform the update. However, iTunes reports that 13.6.1 is current and does not offer the update to 14. What next? 217 2 Aug 13, 2021 4:16 PM in response to turingtest2 Thanks. That definitely explains the size. Now the daily double question is 'why'? If the great and wonderful wizard can send a delta of 150mb over the air, why the **** can't they send the delta to iTunes? And the big question of the year... Why can't they send it straight to the phone? That's why I pay ATT the big bucks for UNLIMITED cellular data.Ah well, it ain't on you. Your answer was spot on. Thanks again. Aug 12, 2021 10:36 AM in response to jmarfink An over the air update is a delta file, containing only what has changed between one version and the next. An iTunes download will always be the complete OS package.tt2 of 1 size of itunes update
