The article says that there will still be security software that continues to support Windows 7 (in fact, it even says that Microsoft Security Essentials will still support Windows 7 I'm very curious about that what, exactly, does it mean for Microsoft to be ending support for Windows 7 if they're actually still supporting Windows 7?).

The main problem that I see concerning Ryzen processor Motherboards is installing Windows 7.The problem with AM4 Motherboards is USB and Chipset driver support for Windows 7.When it comes to installing Windows 7 on a Ryzen Motherboard you need to use a special method to it. Like use a PS/2 Keyboard and mouse instead of a USB Keyboard and mouse. Most AM4 Motherboards have special instructions or procedures on how to install Windows 7 on the AM4 Motherboards. But once Windows 7 is installed it will work normally as long as there are Windows 7 drivers to install.Like I mentioned before, a CPU is not really dependent on the OS as long as your have the proper drivers that are compatible with the OS you have installed.By the way, both AMD and Intel CPUs doesn't support Windows 7 according to this 4 year old Tech Article: For the time being it seems like Windows 7 is still supported on some APUs and GPUs. But eventually AMD will stop completely making drivers for Windows 7 since it isn't supported by Microsoft anymore with Windows Updates. So if it is possible it is best to upgrade to Windows 10 which you still might be able to do with a valid Windows 7 Key or pay to upgrade to Windows 10. EDIT: You can try using AM3+ Motherboards that still support Windows 7. I had a FX8350 Processor when I upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7.But AM4 processors are much superior to AM3+ processors. Before you purchase a Motherboard find out if it is compatible with Windows 7. Many times it will says it is compatible with so and so OS.

You'll need to ensure your device is running Windows 10 or later to continue receiving future Chrome releases," Google said in a blog post at the end of last year. In an email to ZDNET, a Google spokesperson confirmed that, for Windows users, Google Chrome 110 and future updates will only be supported on Windows 10 and later updates, including Windows 11. Sign in to your XDA account Today is Patch Tuesday, and as usual, all supported versions of Windows got their updates. However, support for some versions of the OS is coming to an end soon. Specifically, Windows 8.1 will get its final update on January 10, 2023. Microsoft previously announced that users on Windows 8.1 would eventually start getting notified of the impending change, and with today's update, those notifications are live. The notification, which can be seen above, gives users three options. You can choose to learn more, be reminded later, or be reminded when support ends. This isn't as aggressive of a tactic as we've seen from Microsoft in the past; indeed, you might not have expected an option to not be reminded until January 10. If you choose the more generic option to be reminded later, you'll see that notification about once a month. Once the end of support date arrives, you can choose to never see it again. Presumably, this push isn't super-aggressive because there are so few users on Windows 8.1. When support for Windows XP and Windows 7 ended, it was a really big deal because so many people were still using those operating systems. Windows 8, with all respect to the people that worked on it, was a disastrous flop. It radically designed an interface that was familiar to users for decades, and it didn't do so in an intuitive way. When Windows 10 came out as a free upgrade, people moved on pretty quickly. Now the current version is Windows 11, but interestingly enough, while Microsoft only publicized the free upgrade for a year, you can still use any Windows 7, 8.1, or 10 key to activate Windows 11. And yes, that means that you can still use your Windows 7 or 8.1 key to activate Windows 10. Being that Windows 11 only supports a subset of Windows 10 hardware, and Windows 8.1 hardware is going to be eligible for Windows 10 only. However, with Windows 10, you'll still be supported until 2025, getting a few extra years out of your PC. Once the end of support date arrives on January 10, 2023, that means that you won't get updates anymore. Everything on your PC will remain to be usable, including the ability to just do the things you do. The Store, however, will shut down in July 2023.. 2025-04-03Kon-Boot (aka konboot, kon boot) is a software utility that allows users to bypass Microsoft Windows passwords and Apple macOS passwords (Linux support has been deprecated) without lasting or persistent changes to system on which it is executed. It is also the first reported tool capable of bypassing Windows 10 online (live) passwords and supporting both Windows and macOS systems.[1] It is also a widely used tool in computer security, especially in penetration testing.[2][3][4] Since version 3.5 Kon-Boot is also able to bypass SecureBoot feature.[5]Kon-Boot booting from USBKon-Boot was originally designed as a proof of concept, freeware security tool, mostly for people who tend to forget their passwords. The main idea was to allow users to login to the target computer without knowing the correct password and without making any persistent changes to system on which it is executed.First Kon-Boot release was announced in 2008 on DailyDave mailing list.[6] Version 1.0 (freeware) allowed users to login into Linux based operating systems and to bypass the authentication process (allowing access to the system without knowing the password). In 2009 author of this software announced Kon-Boot for Linux and 32-bit Microsoft Windows systems.[7] This release provided additional support for bypassing Windows systems passwords on any Windows operating system starting from Windows Server 2008 to Windows 7. This version is still available as freeware[8]Newest Kon-Boot releases are available only as commercial products[1][9] and are still maintained.Current version is able to bypass passwords on the following operating systems:More information Supported Microsoft Windows operating systems ...Supported Microsoft Windows operating systems[10]Microsoft Windows XPMicrosoft Windows Vista Home Basic 32Bit/64BitMicrosoft Windows Vista Home Premium 32Bit/64Bit Microsoft Windows Vista Business 32Bit/64Bit Microsoft Windows Vista Enterprise 32Bit/64Bit Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard 32Bit/64Bit Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Datacenter 32Bit/64Bit Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprise 32Bit/64Bit Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Web Edition 32Bit/64Bit Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Standard 32Bit/64Bit Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Datacenter 32Bit/64Bit Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Enterprise 32Bit/64Bit Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 32Bit/64Bit Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 32Bit/64Bit Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 32Bit/64Bit Microsoft Windows 8 and 8.1 all versions (32Bit/64Bit—includes live/online password bypass)Microsoft Windows 10 all versions (32Bit/64Bit—includes live/online password bypass)Microsoft Windows 11 all versions (64Bit, UEFI - Windows 11 installation requirements)CloseMore information Supported Apple macOS / OS X operating systems ...Supported Apple macOS / OS X operating systems[11]Apple OS X 10.6Apple OS X 10.7Apple OS X 10.8Apple OS X 10.9Apple OS X 10.10Apple OS X 10.11Apple
