The strain also demonstrated potent antifungal properties, effectively suppressing the growth of yeast and filamentous fungi such as Candida spp., Aspergillus spp., Penicillium spp., Paecilomyces spp., and Rhizopus. The rapid onset of antifungal activity, observed within three days, suggests a highly efficient secondary metabolite production mechanism. The production of antimicrobial compounds by Streptomyces strains is strongly influenced by culture conditions, including media composition, incubation time, and the organisms used in testing [71]. Carbon sources, in particular, play a pivotal role in regulating antibiotic synthesis. Research has shown that preferred carbon sources can suppress secondary metabolism, which may reduce antibiotic production [72]. This regulation could explain the varying inhibition patterns observed in Streptomyces sp.
