We automatically calculate these taxes and collect them from guests at the time of booking, and then remit them to the applicable tax authority. When we automate this process, it doesn’t change which taxes are due or the total payout you receive as a hotel. You’ll continue to receive your payout minus our service fee. View taxes collected on your behalfIf your hotel is located in an area where HotelTonight collects and remits some or all of the taxes on the net room rate on your behalf, these taxes will be shown on your HT Extranet profile under Profile → Settings → Tax/Fees → Tax Remitted by HotelTonight. If you believe applicable laws exempt your hotel from collecting a tax that HotelTonight collects and remits on your behalf, please notify us by contacting [email protected]. Otherwise, you waive that exemption by accepting the reservation. What about applicable taxes on Airbnb? If you are a hotel that's listing on Airbnb using HTX, the tax treatment will be the same as it is on HotelTonight. Similar to how it works on HotelTonight, the Airbnb system determines which taxes apply based on the address entered by the hotel partner. Airbnb automatically calculates these taxes and collects them from guests at the time of booking. In some jurisdictions, Airbnb also remits occupancy taxes directly to the tax authority. You are responsible for any applicable taxes that are not collected by Airbnb, and are also responsible for paying any occupancy taxes that Airbnb does not
