Uber-and-Lyft-Cab-Prices-Data-Analysis-and-VisualizationBoth Uber and Lyft are ride-hailing services that allow users to hire vehicles with drivers through websites or mobile apps. Uber is a global company available in 69 countries and around 900 cities worldwide. Lyft, on the other hand, operates in about 644 cities in the US and 12 cities in Canada only. Yet, in the US, it’s the second-largest ridesharing company with a 31% market share. From booking the cab to paying the bill, both services have almost similar core features. But there are some unique cases where the two ride-hailing services come neck to neck. One such is pricing, especially dynamic pricing called “surge” in Uber and “Prime Time” in Lyft.We have an interesting dataset with data from Boston (US), which we will analyze to understand the factors affecting the dynamic pricing and the difference between Uber and Lyft’s special prices.Data sourceThe datasets used in this article have been imported from:[Kaggle]The data has been collected from different sources, including real-time data collection using Uber and Lyft API (Application Programming Interface) queries. The dataset covers Boston’s selected locations and covers approximately a week’s data from November 2018.After loading the dataset, we found two files available. The first is the weather.csv, and the second is cab_rides.csv.Data AnalysisThe data has been analyzed using Python and visualized with Power BI. For a similar analysis where the data is updated regularly, we recommend using www.datom.ai, a code-free tool with usage-based pricing that allows for scheduling importing of data, data cleansing, data syndication, and other features.Factors affecting cab pricesDistance and price correlationSurge correlation with daysSurge correlation with time of the daySurge correlation with source and destinationRide correlation with weatherSummaryIf you were a Business Analyst working for either Uber or Lyft, you could draw the following conclusions:Uber is more economical; however, Lyft also provides fair competition.People prefer to have shared rides during the nighttime.People avoid taking rides when it rains. When traveling at longer distances, the price does not increase linearly. However, based on the time and demand, a surge can affect the cost.Uber can be the first choice for long distances. How can MindTrades help?MindTrades Consulting Services, a leading marketing agency provides in-depth analysis and insights for the global IT sector including leading data integration brands such as Diyotta. Best Taxis near Global Cab VA - Global Cab VA, Hilldrup Taxi Virginia Cab, Aero Cab, Yellow Cab Of Fredericksburg, Bumbrey's Independent Cab Service, Gary’s Taxi, Ontime Taxicab Hello silverhead! Your advice took me on the right path and made me go deeper into the routing options Helix gives us, thank you very much! The two-path preset was the way to go. So, here's what I've done so far. 1. Helix cabling and settings: 1/4" Left Output to FX Return of the MarkBass head, 1/4" Right Output to Return 1 of Helix. Left XLR to the mixer. Helix big volume knob at maximum. In the global settings, USB 1/2 Destination is set to XLR. 1/4" and Send/Return must be all set to Line level. XLR in my case is set to Mic because that's what my mixer expects to receive. 2. Helix preset: Path 1A: I created my mono bass preset on path 1A (compressor, preamp or amp without cab, and the effects I want). Input 1A: Guitar. Output routed to 1/4". If you choose the preamp instead of the amp you have to boost the signal significantly (EQ after the preamp at +9dB and output level at +20dB) to get a strong enough signal. Path 2A: Input set to Return 1, IR (otherwise the recorded track has no cab) and Output to USB 3/4. 3. Ableton Live: Bass track with Audio from Ext. In 3/4 and Audio to Master. Monitoring off. This setup makes me hear the bass live from the MarkBass head, and the recorded bass track through the PA, while all the other instruments track are heard through the PA. Initially I wanted the recordedComments
