Is Houdini Engine unsupported on iOS? 10134 19 2 May 3, 2015 4 a.m. Hi there, I was having some troubles getting Houdini Engine to work when my platform is set to iOS. I keep getting HoudiniErrorUnsupportedPlatform' was thrown. Am i doing something wrong, I was sure I'd seen some iOS demos showing live Digital Assets… I'm on Unity3d 5.0.0f4Installed Houdini Version: 14.0.291Mac OSX 10.10.3Thanks,Pete May 4, 2015 2:34 p.m. Houdini Engine is not supported on iOS. It is actually not supported as an in-game shipped middleware on any platform. For Unity, only Windows and Mac OSX are support and only in-editor as a level building tool. That said, you should not be getting any errors unless you programmatically call certain functions in C# yourself during gameplay. Are you doing that or are these exceptions just being thrown on their own? But we're not there yet.And the reason you get the error while on the iOS platform is that no Houdini Engine call can run on that platform and instantiating and asset requires some Houdini Engine calls. Apr 9, 2005 #8 The way my physics prof said it makes perfect sense to me: He said if he was looking to hire engineers or something, he would hire people with B grades. Why? Because most people with straight A's walk into the class room (or work area), and the first thing they do is try to figure out what the prof (or boss) expects from them, and then they conform to that and only that, whereas a good engineer (or any type of scientist) needs to be creative and come up with his/her own solutions and ways of doing things, and isn't afraid of making mistakes and trying new things. That doesn't apply to me, though. I got 4.0's in my past 2 phys classes and I did everything the same way I do in all my classes (which I don't usually get 4.0's): sit down, space out for half the class, take a glimps of what the prof is talking about, space out for the rest of class, then leave. It just happens that I have a nack for understanding how things work, and that's exactly what physics is. :)PL Apr 10, 2005 #9 How big of a difference does it make with respect to graduate schools.
