(Originally published on November 21, 2023 by Mark Rideout and Raymond Jude Jacob)Hey, Microsoft 365 Insiders! We are Mark Rideout, a Product Manager, and Raymond Jude Jacob, a Product Designer, on the Office AI team. We want to introduce the Ink to Text Pen tool. It enables you to use your digital pen (or stylus) to automatically convert your handwriting to text as you write. We know (based on your feedback!) that using your pen to insert and edit text in Microsoft 365 applications, such as Microsoft Word, can be challenging. This is especially true when you are adding content with your pen but also want your handwriting to be converted to text. With the new Ink to Text Pen tool on the Draw tab in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and OneNote for Windows, you can have your handwriting convert to text as you write. In addition, when working with text you can use pen gestures to select, delete, split or join text, and even create a new line.On the Draw tab, select the Ink to Text Pen tool.Ink to Text Pen tool being clicked on the Draw tab"Start writing in an empty space near the location you want to add text to, and then write as you normally would. To quickly make updates and even apply formatting to the converted text, use the selection or editing gestures.Add text: With the Ink to Text Pen tool selected, start adding text to an existing document, or start a new document.Select text: Use the Straight-line select gesture to select some text, and then apply formatting. Note you can also select text by double tapping with the pen on a word.Strikethrough gestureReplace text: Use the combination of selection and writing to replace text with new content. (Originally published on January 16, 2024 by Victoria Chen)Hi, Microsoft 365 Insiders! My name is Victoria Chen and I’m a Product Manager on the Office AI team. I’m excited to introduce the Ink Selection multi-tap gesture in OneNote on Windows! It enables you to easily select multiple strokes of handwritten and drawn ink.;We've heard from many of you that selecting a range of handwritten and drawn ink, especially using the Lasso Select tool, can be cumbersome. With the newly available Ink Selection multi-tap gesture, you can just tap ink with touch, a digital pen, or a mouse, to expand the selection, from a word to a line to a paragraph to the entire page. No need to draw lassos around your ink.Open a page that has handwritten or drawn ink.Tap to select the first set of ink strokes using touch, your digital pen, or your mouse.Continue tapping the ink to expand your selection from word to line to paragraph to entire page.Ink Selection multi-tap gestureTo clear selected ink, tap anywhere outside of the selected range. In some cases, an ink stroke can be selected instead of a word with an initial tap. In that case, the ink selection progression will go from strokes to visible ink on the page, to the entire page.Highlighters and drawings are selected as ink stroke and follow the above ink selection progression. The Ink Selection multi-tap gesture is available to OneNote for Windows Beta Channel users running Version 2402 (Build 17304.20000) or later.Features are released over some time to ensure things are working smoothly. We highlight features that you may not have because they’re slowly releasing to larger numbers of Insiders. Sometimes we remove elements to further improve them based on your feedback. Though this is rare, we also reserve the option to pull a feature entirely out of the product, even if you, as an Insider, have had the opportunity to try it. We want to hear from you! Please share your feedback about the Multi-tap Ink Selection experience with us right from the app by tapping the Send Feedback button in the top right corner of the app window. Were using it, but once everything got switched over it worked nicely and I upgraded to it. Never had any problems with ASC.No it's not different than other License Managers. But I've already got N.I.'s Service Center, IK MultiMedia's License Manager, and iLok License Manager so installing another Manager for a plugin I won't use is pointless. If this freebie would have been one of their synths or I ever buy one of them I will install the ASC on my studio computer. I still appreciate Arturia's generosity but this filter plugin isn't something I need. But I'm sure lots of people will have a ton of fun with it and use it on many tracks......... Yeah, everyone wants to do their own license manager these days. It gets on my nerves but I tolerate it if I have multiple products. I wouldn't install ASC for this either. That said, I would setup an account and claim it on the off chance that it helped get a discount on some future purchase.
