So I was finally convinced to swap from FNIS to Nemesis a few days ago, but for some reason the program refuses to launch. I've tried running via MO2 application dropdown, directly from the mod folder itself, and installing it to the normal Skyrim SE folder, to no avail. After opening the program, I get a CMD prompt pop up for half a second and then it disappears, and nothing else happens. Nemesis DOES show on my task manager as a background process. taken to try and resolve the issue:Double checked that FNIS was completely uninstalled via MO2 and all files deleted on PC.Double checked that I am using the correct Nemesis version (SSE)Reinstalled Nemesis multiple times, and trying out old versions of Nemesis.Updated and reinstalled MO2, and updated Windows.Restarted MO2 and PC multiple timesLet Nemesis "run" for a few hours to see if it's just shyAdded Nemesis to exception list in Windows Firewall as well as KasperskyTried launching with non-essential programs turned offAnd... nothing. My cursor gets the loading wheel for 2-3 seconds every time, i see the CMD screen for a second, and then nothing happens.I'm at an absolute loss about what to do from here. In that case the patch will help you to cure the CTD. If you have no installed animations by FNIS you can try the patch just for performance purpose.Q: What's the difference between the patch and SSE Engine Fixes?A: SSE Engine Fixes changes movsx -> movzx instruction, what doubles the existen limit of numStaticNodes. A crash or unpredicted behavior still may happen when you will have more than 65535 numStaticNodes (instead of 32767) using the Engine Fixes solution.This patch always put 0 instead of incorrect value to the numStaticNodes register, what always helps to cure the CTD and frees CPU from additional work.Q: I'm getting "does not appear to be an SKSE plugin" message in skse64.log, is it okay?A: Yes, it's okay, just ignore it. The message notifies that the plugin was loaded not through SKSE64 API, but classical way with dllmain. 2025-04-09So I was finally convinced to swap from FNIS to Nemesis a few days ago, but for some reason the program refuses to launch. I've tried running via MO2 application dropdown, directly from the mod folder itself, and installing it to the normal Skyrim SE folder, to no avail. After opening the program, I get a CMD prompt pop up for half a second and then it disappears, and nothing else happens. Nemesis DOES show on my task manager as a background process. taken to try and resolve the issue:Double checked that FNIS was completely uninstalled via MO2 and all files deleted on PC.Double checked that I am using the correct Nemesis version (SSE)Reinstalled Nemesis multiple times, and trying out old versions of Nemesis.Updated and reinstalled MO2, and updated Windows.Restarted MO2 and PC multiple timesLet Nemesis "run" for a few hours to see if it's just shyAdded Nemesis to exception list in Windows Firewall as well as KasperskyTried launching with non-essential programs turned offAnd... nothing. My cursor gets the loading wheel for 2-3 seconds every time, i see the CMD screen for a second, and then nothing happens.I'm at an absolute loss about what to do from here. I see other people with the same problem on Youtube, Reddit, Nexus forums, but I never see a solution that works for me.I have also seen this previous thread but the solution here does not apply/work for me: #84If anyone has any idea please let me know!
