While the primitive bear-like natives of Endor were crucial in the Rebels' defeat of the Empire in Return of the Jedi, the Galactic Civil War didn't end on Endor despite the second Death Star's destruction and the Sith Lords' defeat. As such, new threats are emerging, and the Ewoks are now seemingly on their own. Following the Battle of Endor, a new preview for Marvel's Ewoks #1 by Steve Orlando, Alvaro Lopez, Laura Braga reveals that the pieces of the remaining Empire still have a vested interest in the forest moon. This is due to a large weapons depot hidden on the moon, resulting in new teams of Imperials being sent to retrieve the vast cache of weapons in the ongoing battle with the Rebellion. Meanwhile, it looks as though the Ewoks are concerned about what comes next for their various tribes: Having learned they aren't alone in the galaxy, the Ewoks are discussing how they should interact when and if they come into contact with future visitors from other worlds. Instead, the war wouldn't officially conclude until the Empire's surrender following the culminating Battle of Jakku almost a year later. To that end, it's understandable that the Rebellion would eventually leave Endor and the Ewoks as they still had a war to win, having finally gained a critical advantage following their recent triumph which rocked the Empire to its core. After all, it's not as if the forest moon had any known tactical or strategic value following the destruction of the shield generator that had been protecting the second Death Star in Endor's orbit. As such, the reveal of this major weapons cache is a real game-changer, one that will likely pit the Empire against the Ewoks alone. Ewoks: The Battle for EndorPosterFilm informationDirected by:Jim WheatKen WheatProduced by:Thomas G. SmithMusic by:Peter BernsteinCinematography:Isidore MankofskyDistributed by:ABCLanguage:EnglishEwoks: The Battle for Endor (later re-released on home video as Star Wars: Ewok Adventures – The Battle for Endor) is a 1985 made-for-TV movie set in the Star Wars galaxy co-written and directed by Jim and Ken Wheat who wrote the screenplay, with George Lucas writing the story. A sequel to Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure, it focuses on Cindel Towani, the little girl from the first film, who, after being orphaned, joins the Ewoks in protecting their village and defeating the evil marauders who have taken control of the Endor moon.Setting[]The film is set sometime after the Ewoks animated series, and sometime between Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Nearly six months have passed since the events of the first film, and the Towani family's starcruiser is almost completely fixed, and Jeremitt is putting the final touches on the craft. Cindel and Wicket have been walking in the forest together, picking flowers. Wicket has picked up some English (Basic, as it is called in the Star Wars Expanded Universe) from Cindel and her family.Plot[]While preparing to leave the forest moon of Endor, the Towani family (Jeremitt, Catrine, Mace, and Cindel), the Ewok village is attacked by a group of marauders (originally crash landed from Sanyassa) led by Terak and his witch-like sorceress Charal. Many Ewoks are killed, along with Catrine and Mace, and Jeremitt. Cindel's escape is short-lived, she is captured by Charal and placed in a prisoner carriage, where she is reunited with the Ewok Wicket. The two escape and meet Teek, a small fast native of Endor. Teek takes Wicket and Cindel to the home of Noa Briqualon, a

A still from "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" showing a chunk of the shattered Death Star II, apparently on the moon Kef Bir.(Image credit: Disney/Lucasfilm)If you've been holding out hope that some Ewoks survived the end of "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi," you should probably squash it, some scientists say.In that 1983 film, you probably recall, our heroes destroyed the second Death Star (the first having been obliterated in 1977's "A New Hope"). The final scenes of "Jedi" revealed that a large chunk of the superweapon had fallen on the forest moon Endor, the Ewoks' home world. In the intervening decades, scientists and fans alike have used this evidence to propose an Ewok extinction, the idea being that the falling debris cataclysmically altered Endor and wiped out the adorable little furballs. Related: The Greatest 'Star Wars' Movie Plot Twists of All TimeEwok lovers got a straw to grasp recently, however: Trailers for the new film "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker," which comes out nationwide Friday (Dec. 20), have shown a large chunk of the Death Star II in the oceans of Kef Bir, one of Endor's neighbor moons. (Confusingly, the planet these satellites orbit is also called Endor.) If some of the metal moon wound up on Kef Bir, these optimists have said, Endor may have avoided serious damage. Some Ewoks may have made it through the fire! But astrophysicist Sean Raymond doesn't think so."If a chunk of the Death Star escaped the gravity of Endor (the moon),

"The Cries of the Trees" is the pilot episode and series premiere of the American animated television series Ewoks, which premiered on ABC on September 7, 1985. In 1997, "The Cries of the Trees" was compiled in the direct-to-video feature The Haunted Village.Set in 3 ABY, the episode follows Wicket (Jim Henshaw) and Kneesaa (Cree Summer) as they defend the Soul Trees from the evil Tulgah witch, Morag.Official description[]Wicket and his pals defend the Soul Trees when Morag tries to set the forest on fire.Plot summary[]Fire danger[]It is a time of drought on the Forest Moon of Endor. Wicket and his friends meet Queen Izrina of the Wisties, when they are suddenly attacked by a band of Yuzzums who serve Morag, the Tulgah witch. The Ewoks escape, but Izrina is captured and brought to Morag.Back in Bright Tree Village, the young Ewoks do their chores. Paploo approaches them and suggests that they play drop-the-sack instead. Meanwhile, in Morag's lair, the witch casts a spell on Izrina, turning the queen into an evil, flaming creature. Morag releases Izrina to infect the other Wisties and burn down the Ewoks' Soul Trees.Paploo, Wicket, and Teebo play the forbidden game of drop-the-sack in the Happy Grove. They accidentally drop a sack of mud on the matronly Bozzie, and the Elders see through Paploo's hasty lie to protect himself and his friends. As such, the young Ewoks are assigned cleaning duty on the forest floor. As they work, Izrina flies by and sets the area ablaze. Chief Chirpa and some other elders arrive and put out the fire. The young Ewoks are held responsible, disbelieving their claim that the fire seemed to begin on its own since the young ones had lied before, and are sentenced to a three-day detention in a remote area under the guardianship of Wicket's older brothers.Saving the forests[]That night, the three young Ewoks share the same dream: The Soul Trees are burning and crying out to them for help. The Ewoks rush outside to discover that the forest is ablaze. When they alert their warders, the cursed Izrina attacks. Wicket douses the Wistie in water, removing the curse. Izrina tells them about Morag's scheme, and all the Ewoks hurry to warn Chirpa. They interrupt the Festival of Hoods, but no one believes them. However, while Wicket's brothers and Izrina explain the situation to Shaman Logray, the youngest Ewoks, including Malani, sense the distress of the trees. Chirpa is convinced and mobilizes the community to fight the fire, but Morag interferes by damming the river to cut off their water supply. Logray and Wicket retrieve magic foam, which proves to be
