I get the impression that what ICUE is currently doing is checking for a NVIDIA 30-series and then specifically polling for the 3rd sensor. There doesn't seem to be any difference (or new API's) to expose this sensor. Point-in-case: EVGA's existing Precision X1 v1.36 correctly reported temperatures with NVIDIA 40-series cards on release day (they later released v1.37 that improved 40-series support). A bit of nostalgia or "sins of the past": I can remember when Riddick came out on the PC back in 2004 (yeah, I'm pretty old and do I still have the disc) and it was failing to load on the (at the time) current generation GPU's that hardware supported OpenGL 2.0 even though it only needed OpenGL1.4. The developers got lazy and chose to only check the minor-version so four (of v1.4) was bigger than zero (of v2.0) and aborted loading the game. I tried to go back to a previous version but this issue still remains. I have a support ticket in, but haven't gotten much help yet. I sent over all the log information as well. I also was able to record the stuttering in a video. No matter which lighting effect the stutter still remains. This really sucks when your system is basically all Corsair products. Is there anything that can be done? I tried reinstalling Armoury Crate and iCUE, however; this did nothing. I even removed all the profiles iCUE had just to be safe. This issue still remains

The software on the USB flash drive refused to install properly while the installer obtained from the product page seemed to have problems installing Fan Xpert 4. In the end we had success by downloading the entire 4 GB Armoury Crate package from this link but even then several sections of the suite refused to install without updates, many of which seemed non-existent or took an age to download and install. With a 1 Gbit download speed we have confidence this was the software or an issue with the ASUS servers and not our Internet connection, but eventually we got there.The primary reasons you'd want to install any of the software are Aura Sync for configuring and synchronizing your GB lighting across the motherboard, any attached LED devices and compatible components and also Fan Xpert 4. Honestly, we'd rather have Fan Xpert 4 available as a standalone software as it does give you one of if not the best Windows-based fan control suites of any manufacturer, with the ability to fine tune fan curves, switch between smart and fixed RPM modes and even pick from alternative temperature inputs for system and pump fans such as thermal or coolant probes, which is extremely useful for situations involving watercooling. At the very least it's useful for configuring your fan speeds within Windows using your preferred stress tests, which is obviously not possible from the EFI BIOS.
