#1 Civ 5 is consistently crashing on me when I click the Load Game button on the Single player menu. This crash is different than the loading saved games created before 1.0.0.621 since I am not actually selecting a game. Crashes before that! I never get the dialog to select any a saved game since Civ5 crashes on my before that --- quite literally after clicking the button.New games work. Saving seems to work. Even the Credits and Options work. The crash seems to only happen when I click the Load Game button on the menu. Any ideas or workarounds?Here is what I have tried with crashes each time.Run under Direct11. Crash.Reboot. Run under DirectX11. Crash.Run under DirectX9. Crash.Defrag cache via Steam. Then run under DirectX11. Crash.Use Steam to "Verify Integrity of Game Cache". Says 1 file was not cool and redownloaded. Then I rebooted. Ran under DirectX11. Crash.Use steam to back up all saved games. Then manually delete all games under the below directories, then run under DirectX11. Logged Do you have "force polling" turned on? Some oddball joysticks require it. Also directx8 and the direct input 8 vb dll need to be installed and registered. The directx4vb installer is available in the "misc downloads" section of my website, which will install the vb dll for you if you follow the instructions. Also you mentioned you are using xpadder. If you are using that then your joystick is showing up as a keyboard during play and thus you shouldn't be messing with joystick settings and should be using whatever keyboard settings you have setup in xpadder. Since xpadder probably isn't running while you are setting up the wrapper, you'll need to press the appropriate keys on your keyboard manually to set things up. Long story short, pick one.... either use xpadder and setup the game via keyboard keys or don't and use the joystick settings.
