The Trust System is a feature in Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent where the player's actions will affect the 'Trust' of the two opposing sides of the game, the NSA and the JBA. Primary assignments will typically force the player to choose between supporting the priorities of the JBA or the NSA, with the Trust levels going up or down, depending on the objectives.Overview[]The Trust System is one of the unique and defining features in both versions of Splinter Cell: Double Agent, with it having both drastic and subtle influences on the game as a whole. For example, the level of trust will affect just how characters will act towards the player, outcomes of certain situations, and also what equipment and upgrades the player can access.Version 1[]In Version 1, the Trust System is visually represented by two bars, one belonging to the JBA while the other belongs to the NSA. The bars will fill or lower for the respective faction depending on whether you supported them or undermined them in a particular objective. If either of the faction's bars drop to 0, then the game is over. Unlike Version 2, the player can effectively keep both factions filled up by performing side objectives for both factions.Version 2[]In Version 2, the Trust System appears differently - instead of two bars, the player only tracks one. The JBA appears on one side of the bar, while the NSA appears on the other side - with a 'slider' in the center representing the player's position between both factions. If the player helps one faction more than the other for too long, the game is not over: instead, the faction with the lowest trust to the player will instead give the player an opportunity objective during any of the missions to gain back trust.Trivia[]In Version 1, NSA Trust is needed in order to get the 'Hero' ending, where the true final level - Coast Guard Boat - is available to the player.

Events of Chapter 3, you sleep in a bed. Suddenly, you hear the sound of explosions and Georgie wakes you up, saying that we (us) need to get out. You need to escape the Safe Place, rescuing Mimi, Pony, and Giraffy whilst trying to avoid the infected called Raze, who somehow broke in. Also, it is revealed that Zee and Zuzy have already managed to escape through the vents. After you escape, the Safe Place members find themselves confronted by Willow and her gang, all except Tigry. Willow tells us that she knows that Pony and you broke into the Refinery. Pony tries to convince Willow to let them be, but she instead throws you and the rest of the Safe Place members into a jail cell. Giraffy and Mimi apologize to Pony for not listening to him to not trust the radio, and Pony forgives them, saying that they need to get out.Sewers - Chapter 5[]The chapter starts with Zee and Zuzy busting a manhole in the corner of the jail cell open, saying that they need help trying to open another manhole out of the cell through the sewers. You go to help then and instruct others to stay inside the cell so the guards don't get suspicious. In this chapter, you are chased by an infected named Alfis. Once they open the manhole, they get the other Safe Place Members out of the cell, but Tigry spots them. He gets ready to throw a dagger at them, but ultimately decides to not do it. Willow pushes him out the way, calling him useless, and says "she has to deal with them herself." She then aims to shoot Pony, but Giraffy jumps in front of the bullet and thus gets shot instead. You tell The Safe Place members to get Giraffy out of there, as you and Pony get ready to fight Willow. Factory - Chapter 6[]It starts with Willow pointing her gun at you and Pony, followed by a strange sound coming out of the sewers. Willow tells you that whatever it is, it is certainly not
