When attempting to open a link in the bitly IOS app, the message is “Failed to retrieve link information!”. I suspect this is bitly phasing our their “free” app. The fees to upgrade to a paid account are too high for the occasional user like me. Be aware also to copy links created in bitly to an external program or pay $300+ to have the ability to export your links. App shows deleted links Signed into Bitly website, deleted a link I previously created via website. However when I open the app the link still appears even though it no longer exists on Bitly website.Furthermore if I open the app, go to my list of links and look at any link “above” the deleted link that won’t go away in the app (but remember it’s deleted from the Bitly website), then if I try to copy any of those links above the “ghost” link, the link that erroneously gets copied is from one position below the link I actually chose to copy.No way to report this directly to Bitly unfortunately. Are Bitly Links case sensitive? Yes, Bitly Links are case sensitive. This means if your link is “bit.ly/CustomWord," then “bit.ly/customword” will lead to an error page or to a different destination.You can make both work, however, if you edit your link to the other options. This is because when you edit a link, the older versions of that link still work. For example, to make both of the links above point to the same destination, first shorten a link to bit.ly/CustomWord, then edit it to bit.ly/customword.Editing your link combines metrics for all versions of the link.What about the URL for a Bitly Page?The URL for your Bitly Page is also case-sensitive. This is the link you create to share your Link-in-bio page with your audience.You can change the URL for your Bitly Page if you don't like its capitalization. Just be aware that this doesn't work like a redirect. You'll need to update all links to your Bitly Page wherever you've shared it.
