2025-04-21I have just built my new rig with a ROG STRIX z390-E Gaming paired with an i5-9600k. I am over the moon with it all apart from the CPU usage with ASUS lighting service for Auora sync rgb lighting. Normally at rest I use 1%-2% CPU. With the ASUS lighting service active I am sitting at an average of 12% CPU usage at rest which is pretty disappointing. I have since uninstalled the lighting service and switched on the motherboard light from BIOS and then use the onboard controller on my case for fan and case lights which imo have better effects and doesn't use any CPU. Is this kind of CPU usage with the ASUS lighting service normal? All forum topics Previous Topic Next Topic 4,184 Views 4 REPLIES 4 I believe that everyone is saying the static color fixes that issue on here. I'm more surprised yours actually works right now. Thanks for your response. Yes I have seen people are having a lot of issues with it. Mine seems to be working just that it is a CPU hog. It's not a big deal, I will just uninstall the lighting service and use my case RGB controller as I think the lighting effect is better anyway plus it uses zero resources. When I tried Armory Crate it was a massive CPU hog. I tried to set affinity to thread 12 on my Ryzen 3600X and it used somewhere above 70% However last version of Aura Sync was not so much. It is actually fine ...atleast for me. Spikes to about 0,2%. I've found that it can happen every now and then. Restarting the service seems to solve it.From reading other posts (I forget which so can't take the credit), I've found that the following install is more reliable - if not using Armory Crate but AI Suite 3. So...Uninstall both AURA and the Lighting Service. Reboot.Extract the Lighting Control SW zip that you can get from need to install the 'service' first, so go to the 'LightingService' folder first and run 'AuraServiceSetup.exe'.Reboot.Go back to the Lighting Control folder you extracted and run 'Setup.exe'.Reboot.

When you updated the bios did you enable the default settings (usually hit F5) and reboot?2. Confirm you're not using Armoury Crate? It is very buggy. Both my last two desktop builds going back 5 years had Asus motherboards (one AMD the current one Intel) and I've never had major driver issues with Asus stuff. I also have a brand-new Asus laptop and the same applies.I would in the meantime consider disabling the XMP profiles for the ram in the bios while you are diagnosing these issues. Also re running the AsusSetup.exe file, right click select Properties and make sure Unblock box is ticked. Then try running the file with admin rights. It might help. Yes upon bios update I did default values.I've left the memory to auto, no xmp.I'm avoiding armory crate, so haven't tried yet. I

Posted March 22, 2023 (edited) Hello, I uninstalled Armory crate, then i started up ICUE and only my commander pro showed up in ICUE. Also Armory Crate doesnt sync anymore with my GTX 1070 i think that did is the problem. I think that the problem is coming from the latest Armory Crate version. ICUE's displays a NVIDIA 30-series card's Memory Temperature as Temp #3. I was wondering about this too. Just got a 40xx series and it seems very strange to loose that sensor’s data going from 30xx to 40xx. 1 10 hours ago, c-attack said: I was wondering about this too. Just got a 40xx series and it seems very strange to loose that sensor’s data going from 30xx to 40xx. I get the impression that what ICUE is currently doing is checking for a NVIDIA 30-series and then specifically polling for the 3rd sensor. There doesn't seem to be any difference (or new API's) to expose this sensor. Point-in-case: EVGA's existing Precision X1 v1.36 correctly reported temperatures with NVIDIA 40-series cards on release day (they later released v1.37 that improved 40-series support). A bit of nostalgia or "sins of the past": I can remember when Riddick came out on the PC back in 2004 (yeah, I'm pretty old and do I still have the disc) and it was failing to load on the (at the time) current generation GPU's that hardware supported OpenGL 2.0 even though it only needed OpenGL1.4. The developers got lazy and chose to only check the minor-version so four (of v1.4) was bigger than zero (of v2.0) and aborted loading the game. IT'S JUST MATHS🙃 Posted March 26, 2023 (edited) Ever since this update any lighting effect that has multiple changing colors has a stutter. I tried to go back to a previous version but this issue still remains. I have a support ticket in, but haven't gotten much help yet. I sent over all the log information as well. I also was able to record the stuttering in a video. No matter which lighting effect the stutter still remains. This really sucks when your system is basically all Corsair products. Is there anything that can be done? I tried reinstalling Armoury Crate and iCUE, however; this did nothing. I even removed all the profiles iCUE had just to be safe. This issue still remains
