In short, this issue is solved by replacing the generic driver for the monitor with the right driver for your monitor. Replacing your monitor's driver with the manufacturer'sDetermine the manufacturer and model number of your monitor, and using this information, search for a driver for your monitor from the manufacturer's website. You may have trouble with this, as monitor drivers can be incredibly obscure, and the manufacturer may not have provided any at all. For my AOC 2795E, the driver was found on the no-frills page here. If you do manage to find a driver, download it and remember where you downloaded it to.Open the Device Manager. There is background color and picture & the picture changes like it is supposed to.With the EVGA GeForce GT 730 w/2GB still in the NEW computer, I went back to the HP Pavilion 27xi, cabled via the HDMI @ the monitor & HDMI to DVI-D (Dual Link) adaptor at GeForce GT 730. Then I have an AOC 2217V cabled via DVI-D (Dual Link). Going to Settings>Display>Identify, the 1 monitor is on the left which is the HP Pavilion 27xi & the 2 monitor is on the right, the AOC 2217V. I have color background and pictures on both monitors. And the mouse will go to the other monitor. A Word document or an Excel spreadsheet will span the two (2) monitors. In this configuration, when I click on the “Detect” button & I still get “Didn’t detect another display.” in red. I just wanted a faster, up to date computer.I have a HP Pavilion 27xi 27-inch Diagonal IPS LED Backlit Monitor (with resolution set to 1920 x 1080) & at first had it cabled via the DVI-D (Dual Link).I have as a 2nd monitor that is an AOC 27V2H & had it cabled via HDMI.When I went to Settings > Display, the AOC 27V2H was set as #1 & I can/could not get it to change.Both monitors had background color & pictures. But the mouse would/will not go between the monitors.The reason I got this card was because it should be able to use two (2) or even three (3) monitors. The e2243FW averaged 22-watts during my testing while operating in Standard mode. Switching over to Text mode lowered the wattage to 15 but the picture was too dark; Internet mode used 17 watts, and Game mode used 19 watts, but both modes were dim and not ideal for everyday use. Sports mode used 23 watts but the picture was oversaturated. Your best bet is to stay with Standard or Movie mode for the best overall picture as the energy savings does not justify the difference in picture quality. Not everybody has the room or the money for a big screen monitor, which is why smaller models like the AOC e2243FW are still in demand. You don't get much in the way of features for your $150, and performance is not its strong suit either. That said, the e2243FW is a good fit for users with desktop space constraints and meager spending budgets, as long as you can live with subpar grayscale accuracy and narrow viewing angles.
