That the power transformer primary coil was made up of one long wire that directly connects the 120v hot wire to the neutral (ground) wire I wondered why it didn't short out. The reason is the primary and secondary coils are coupled together by the transformer's iron core. Alternating current in the primary coil creates a magnetic field or flux that is captured by the core. That flux flowing around the core creates an AC voltage in the secondary coil. The load (impedance) placed on the secondary winding by the amplifier is transferred through the core to the primary coil. That impedance keeps the primary coil from "shorting out."The 650 volts AC power from the power transformer is fed directly into V5, the 5Y3 rectifier tube. V5 is a full wave dual plate rectifier tube that converts alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC), which the amplifier's electronics actually need to function. The power transformer and rectifier tube have internal resistance that cause voltage sag when higher current is demanded. Installing a higher rated power transformer can reduce voltage sag and "stiffen" the amp's tone, make it sound "punchier" and help tighten the bottom end.370 volts of DC flows out of the rectifier tube's pin 8 (cathode) and is referred to as B+ or B+1 voltage (from old Battery Positive designation). You can raise the DC voltages in the amp by swapping out the 5Y3 rectifier tube for a higher output tube but be careful because your 6V6 power tubes can be damaged by too high a plate voltage. Higher amp voltage tends to increase output power, tighten up the tone and make it "punchier."The B+1 DC voltage flows to the output transformer's primary winding and to the circuit board's three large filter/reservoir capacitors and two voltage dropping resistors. These resistors and capacitors form RC (resistance capacitance) low pass filters that take the lumpy, pulsing DC output of the rectifier tube and smooth it out--the smoother the better. Any waves or ripples left over in the DC power would be added to our audio signal and heard as 120Hz hum in the preamp and power tubes. The filter caps also act as a power reservoir so the larger the value of the capacitors the "stiffer" the amp sounds because the amp can react to power demands with less voltage sag. Low frequencies demand more power so larger capacitors can really help the low end and prevent "farting out."Notice the resistors between the filter caps. These are voltage dropping or step down resistors that reduce the 370 volts DC B+1 down to 295 volts DC B+2 then to 250 volts DC B+3. The B+1 voltage from the rectifier is tapped off. Released on October 31, 1980. The song holds a special place in AC/DC’s catalog, also appearing on their 1986 soundtrack album Who Made Who for Stephen King’s film Maximum Overdrive and on both versions of their 1992 live album AC/DC Live. The composition of “Hells Bells” is marked by its haunting opening—a slow, funereal tolling of a massive 2,000-pound bronze bell. This bell, manufactured by John Taylor & Co Bellfounders in Loughborough, was recorded by Tony Platt using Ronnie Lane’s mobile studio inside the bell foundry, after the tracking sessions for Back in Black were completed at Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas. This chilling introduction sets the tone for a song that delves into themes of fate, mortality, and power.Critical reception for “Hells Bells” has been overwhelmingly positive. The Guardian ranked it number six on their list of the 40 greatest AC/DC songs in 2020, and Kerrang! placed it at number seven on their 2021 list of the 20 greatest AC/DC songs. The song’s compelling combination of lyrical depth, musical intensity, and symbolic resonance has secured its status as one of the band’s best tracks.Chart-wise, “Hells Bells” made an impact globally, reaching #16 in France, #7 in Australia, #25 in Germany, and #50 on the US Mainstream Rock chart in 1980. It continued to chart in later years, including positions in Austria, Canada, and Hungary. The song’s enduring popularity is also reflected in its certifications: Gold in Brazil, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Platinum in Mexico. In the United States, it achieved 3× Platinum status, selling over 3 million copies.Beyond its chart success, “Hells Bells” has found a place in various sports and cultural contexts. It served as the entrance music for Major League Baseball player Trevor Hoffman from 1998 to 2010 and is played before New Jersey Devils home games as players take the ice. Several football and rugby clubs, including FC St. Pauli, RC Toulonnais, and PAOK FC, use the song to energize their fans and players before home matches. Additionally, the song is played at the Bells Beach surf competition in Victoria, Australia, at the start of each So the mount plates are against each other and make sure the alignment pin is secured inside the alignment slot. 3 Turn the locking ring clockwise to tighten the lens against the mount and lock it into position. 4 To power the lens and provide lens control, simply plug the lens cable into the connector marked Lens on the front of your URSA Broadcast G2s turret. Most B4 lenses will have the 12 pin lens connector and cable built in. This will provide power and control signals from your URSA Broadcast G2 to the lens. 6Getting Started For information on the types of B4 lenses and how to use them with your camera, refer to the Using Servo Zoom Lenses section in this manual. NOTE When no lens is attached to the camera, the optical element of URSA Broadcast G2s B4 mount is exposed to dust and other debris. Ensure that you keep the dust cap on whenever possible. Many B4 lenses can be quite long due to their extreme zoom range. When using URSA Broadcast G2 with B4 lenses, your cameras center of gravity will move forward. The URSA Mini shoulder pad included with your camera can be adjusted accordingly. Center of gravity When mounting URSA Broadcast G2 on the URSA Mini shoulder pad, its a good idea to mount the camera towards the rear of the shoulder pad base when using longer zoom lenses. This moves your camera rigs center of gravity back over the middle of the pad, making it easier to balance on your shoulder and rest steadily when sitting on a desk or flat surface. Refer to the URSA Mini Shoulder Kit section later in this manual for more information on fitting the shoulder pad. Powering your Camera Now that youve attached a lens, you will need to supply power. Very little signal reflection/attenuation was recorded during transmission when using parallel resonance relative to capacitive coupling. Above all else, the estimated cost of the PLC board equated to 5 USD/4.52 EUR per board. However, in this case the DC power current of the string is forced to flow across the resonance coil and depending on its value the coil core can be pushed to saturation and the resonance condition will not be fulfilled. The solution to this core saturation problem will be one of the novelties presented in our work. Additionally, the authors showcased the importance of proper detection firmware, as this heightened tolerance of their PLC system to bit error rates (BER). In [13] the authors propose the integration of the PLC with dc-dc power optimizers (DCPO), where the communication signal is added in the power control loop of the DCPO in such a way that the data are modulated at its output and transmitted via the cascaded power line. AC Voltage sampling circuits are installed in DCPOs for reception. Ref. [14] used FSK as in [6] but with 110 kHz representing a logic one and 90 kHz a logic 0; capacitive coupling was used with an AC blocking coil.Lastly, in [15], PLC transmission was used to facilitate an integrated fault detection algorithm in the communication module which deciphers the specificity of the PV fault occurring at a 10 min interval along an 18 module PV array. In totality, all the studies highlighted the robust nature of PLC systems in their simplicity, efficiency, and cost. As such this paper will explore the implementation of the ring PLC configuration we proposed in [16] which takes advantage of resonance along the entire DC-PV line (loop resonance) for medium to high-frequency communication. With this topology the line essentially acts as a resonant loop antenna with high Q-factor characteristics for maximum power transfer between transmitter and receiver. This paper will evolve with the following sections: Section 2 Materials and Methods, Section 3 Results, and Section 4 Conclusions. 2. Materials and MethodsWithin this section, all configurations of passive and active components used to develop the PLC system and propagate its waveform along the PV-DC loop are discussed. The location and PV system where the PLC system was mounted, is the same as that detailed in [4]; a grid-connected eleven module array with varying defects. 2.1. Loop ResonanceA PLC system dictated by loop resonance, becomes attributed with the observed tendency of one-wavelength loop resonant antennas, to maintain high levels of voltage/current signal amplitudes along each point of its full length. This allows for consistent carrier power across each point along the loop between the transmitter and receiver. The loop when tuned presents a high Q-factor at resonance which allows itself to act as a narrowband filter to filter out-of-band signal noise around its resonance frequency. In order to implement our ring-shaped communications signal path, we propose to install a bypass capacitor across the terminals of the combiner box which closes the series PV string line in.
