Download windows defender definitions 64 bit

Hello! Do you have a question about Windows Server or Windows Client for IT Pros? I am trying to use Windows Defender Offline to scan a computer running Windows 7 64-bit. I have downloaded the 64-bit tool and used it to create a boot CD. When I try to run this, I get the message 'Virus and Spyware Definitions Out of Date' and I cannot scan. The process of using the tool to create the boot disc should, as I understand it, download the latest definitions from the Microsoft website. Can anyone offer an explanation as to why this might be happening? I have seen some other posts suggesting that Microsoft is no longer supporting the use of Windows Defender Offline on Windows 7, does that seem likely? This thread is locked.
