I have a Early 2015 MacBook Air with the latest MacOS 10.14.3 Mojave and after having some issues with a Logitech USB RF keyboard/mouse combo and USB 3 hub, I purchases a Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad and Magic Trackpad 2.In addition I am using a Plantronics Voyager Focus bluetooth headset.When I only had the Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad and the Plantronics headset it seemed to work but since I added the Magic Trackpad 2 I am having distorted sound on audio/video calls.When I power down the keyboard and trackpad the audio immediately improves.When I searched about these issues I also came across an Apple KB article that states "The official Bluetooth specifications say seven is the maximum number of Bluetooth devices that can be connected to your Mac at once. However, three to four devices is a practical limit, depending on the types of devices used. Some devices require more Bluetooth data, so they're more demanding than other devices. Data-intensive devices might reduce the total number of devices that can be active at the same time." guess an audio conference is data intensive and so the MacBook Air can't even handle three devices, even though a keyboard and trackpad should be low data.Perhaps the 2015 MBA with its 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5 could be underpowered?Has anyone else experienced this ? I saw similar articles about MacBook Pros as well.I also have a metal monitor stand that I keep my MBA on. I am going to remove it to see if it makes any difference. Perhaps the metal is blocking the BT signal from the keyboard and/or trackpad but that seems unlikely.
