It ain't pretty, but it's fun.Though it may have an unfortunate name, Fatal Fury: Garou – Mark of the Wolves is a fantastic old-school fighter. In fact, Mark of the Wolves is one of my favorite Dreamcast games. And now it's come to Xbox Live Arcade. Though it's ten years old (and looks it) Mark of the Wolves' gameplay still holds up, making it a great option for folks who are tired of Street Fighter. Little has been done to improve on Fatal Fury from its original release. Though there are some decent wallpapers to border the visuals, this hasn't received the love and attention Capcom's paid to its downloadable fighting games. Rather than hi-res character models, you can turn on "soft focus" to make them blurry. It's a bit of a disappointment and most will likely give Fatal Fury one look and think "too ugly to be any fun." But get past the bad music and decade-old visuals and you'll find a deep, enjoyable fighting game. Fatal Fury is halfway between Street Fighter and Guilty Gear, both in terms of its zaniness and its complexity, which makes for a good balance. The characters have personality (who wouldn't want to play as a dude named Butt?) and the fight moves are easy enough to pull off that even casual fight fans can get some enjoyment out of it. If you can do the standard fireball moves and aren't intimidated by multiple punch and kick buttons, you can handle everything Fatal

This is reflected by the characters' official birthdates in the series and given ages in each game. This is made even more obvious with the appearance of a young Geese Howard in Art of Fighting 2, and most of all, Ryo's best student who debuted as one of the playable fighters in Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Marco Rodrigues. Battle. Her move list is different to Eliza's and she attacks by performing lunges, inflicting fast slashes using blood-fashioned cutlery and by causing the formation of various blood-made symbols. Unleashing sekhmet and using their moves constantly depletes Eliza's health, however, and reckless use will put Eliza in a serious pinch. On the other hand, successfully connecting Sekhmet's attacks will spill blood droplets across the battlefield, which Eliza can pick up to restore lost health. Sekhmet also has hyper armor that prevents her from flinching. However, she will transform back into Eliza if she has been grabbed by the opponent or hit with a sweeping attack. Although she is capable of performing attacks even when her opponents attack her, she can be stunned for a bit depending on a number of hits she endures. That can put her in peril when her health is low. Sekhmet has access to the Crimson Scourge blockbuster, which drops additional blood and greatly bolsters Eliza's survivability. In addition, Eliza can perform a variant of Osiris Spiral [M] to draw in blood scattered around closer to her.Prior to the Annie Release Update, unleashing Sekhmet would deplete meter instead, and the vampiric nature of her gameplay was only an early concept in her development cycle[3]. However, the idea was discarded before launch as it was considered too difficult to implement, especially as she was developing into almost two completely separate characters instead of one.Gameplay Inspiration[]A.B.A (Guilty Gear series)T.O.P. system (Garou: Mark of the Wolves)Donovan Baine (Darkstalkers/Vampire series)Nanase (Street Fighter EX3)Anakaris (Darkstalkers/Vampire series)Litchi Faye-Ling (BlazBlue series)Jafar (Aladdin [SNES])Jedah (Darkstalkers/Vampire series)Carmine (Under Night In-Birth)Trailer[] Skullgirls Encore- Eliza Takes the Stage! Project. They could make a new storyline with the old cast, though with the Mishima Saga over, it would be tempting for them to wipe the slate clean and produce a new generation of fighters to tell a new story. The series had technically done it before, as T3 replaced most of Tekken 2’s cast with new characters. This soft reboot worked out better than Art of Fighting 3, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, and Street Fighter 3's attempts. Yet Bandai Namco tried to do something similar for its premier weapons fighter in SoulCalibur 5, and it wasn’t received too well. If the developers aren’t careful, a "Tekken: New Generation" might not last long enough to get a Third Strike. 8 Everything Gets Rebooted Head Back To The Drawing Board And Start Again Pros: It can tell fresh stories with the classic cast. Cons: It's not a popular idea with fans, nor series' head Katsuhiro Harada. So, how could Bandai Namco tell a new story from scratch without replacing anyone despite their old stories running their course? Give it a reboot! Head back to the past and retell the events with a few details changed. Maybe Heihachi could be the good one mentoring a fighter strong enough to take down his malevolent son. Or Kazuya could be the good guy for a change. Anything could be switched up or altered. It’s worked for Mortal Kombat twice now. However, in response to a question about remaking or rebooting Tekken on Twitter, series’ face Katsuhiro Harada said he’d rather move the series into the future than tread old ground. It would take someone higher up in Bandai Namco and more devoted to the reboot idea to put it through. So, it would be easier for T9 to be a full sequel than to change everything so drastically.. The dream match slugfest that never ends...Best Features: An update that doesn't fail to do its source material justice, includes the original KoF 98, great musicWorst Features: Visually a little underwhelming, netplay once again confined exclusively to JapanSNK fans usually have their favorite fighting games. After all, one of the company's hallmarks is the fighting game, a genre they competed neck-to-neck in with Capcom. Among the games that are often chosen to represent the favorite SNK fighters, names like "Garou: Mark of the Wolves" and "The King of Fighters XI" are frequently heard. Amidst those games also sits The King of Fighters '98, SNK's second King of Fighters dream match game and a game with a substantial following. To mark its 10th anniversary, SNK has released a hefty update to the game to reintroduce the gaming world to its magic. Did they succeed in improving the formula?Graphics: 7One title KoF is infamously known for is its dedication to using older sprites. While enthusiasts often look past this fact, it is something that needs to be addressed. The sprites in this game are the classic sprites re-smoothed from the original NeoGeo game. While they did improve some of the edges, I personally think the sprite work they did for The King of Fighters '94 Re-Bout (their last major classic KoF overhaul) may have had some more effort put into it. In addition, The King of Fighters Dream Match 1999 (the Dreamcast version of KoF 98) added a few more visual effects (like smoother jumping trails for super leaps) that aren't present here. But as a fighting game player, I'm not here to gripe about graphics. The animation is still clean and the game still keeps a fast pace, as does any King of Fighters game. The backgrounds are redone in 3D and they look better than DM1999's 3D backdrops. Its a classic package all around even if the graphic work on the sprites could have been a little better.Sound/Music: 10For the sound effects, the game keeps its classic NeoGeo feel while cleaning it up to sound more sophisticated than the aged

Fight King Right after birth, Platinum Sperm readies to face King, showing no signs of fear. After King unfolds his arms and seemingly prepares for his attack, Platinum Sperm stretches the tentacle on his head and incapacitates several heroes around King with it, which frightens him. He then states that he realizes King has desired to fight him in his perfect condition as the reason why he has not made his move yet. Platinum Sperm proceeds to challenge King, telling him to unleash his Ultimate Hellfire Burst Wave Motion Cannon while claiming that he himself will finish the hero by sending his head off at the same moment. As King is closing his eyes and shouting the name of his attack in an attempt to intimidate him, Garou dashes in the direction of Platinum Sperm and sends him flying with a single punch before proceeding to splash Evil Natural Water with multiple blows in extreme quick succession. Platinum Sperm interrupting Garou and Flashy Flash As Flashy Flash shows up and is talking with Garou, Platinum Sperm recovers and interrupts them by simultaneously passing through the two and pummeling them. He is disappointed by Garou, commenting that despite the latter having monsterized so much, he still does not have the courage to join the monster side. Having recovered their balance, both Flashy Flash and Garou start a free-for-all battle with Platinum Sperm. The three of them begin exchanging blows at incredible speeds. During the fight, Platinum Sperm suggests Garou team up with him to defeat Flashy Flash, pointing out that the hero's been weakened due to losing his sword and saying that they can have a one-on-one battle immediately after beating him. As Garou pretends to agree with him, Platinum Sperm lets his guard down and is punched in the face by the Hero Hunter, much to his anger. While their fight continues, Garou begins to showcase his Monster Calamity God Slayer Fist, and momentarily repels both him and Flashy Flash. Platinum Sperm defeating Flashy Flash As the fight intensifies, he and Garou begin to outmatch Flashy Flash, hurting the S-Class. On equal footing with the further-evolved Garou before ultimately succumbing to the Hero Hunter.[5]Physical Abilities[]Immense Strength: As the ultimate fusion of Black Sperm, a Dragon-level threat, Platinum Sperm is incredibly powerful. Using his head tentacle alone, he could seriously injure and incapacitate multiple heroes, including S-Class ones, with a single strike each, albeit some of them were already injured.[3] When pushed to his limits, he matched an evolved Garou in strength, engaging in hundreds to thousands of blows before being defeated. Platinum Sperm and Garou fighting at unbelievable speeds Immense Speed and Reflexes: Platinum Sperm possesses an astounding level of movement speed and reflexes and is among one of the fastest individuals shown. He was capable of repelling multiple heroes around him, including S-Class ones, in the blink of an eye using his tentacle without most of them being able to properly react.[3] When Garou and Flashy Flash were talking to each other, Platinum Sperm could interrupt and pummel them so quickly that it appeared like he was merely "passing through" both of them.[6] Notably, he was capable of keeping up with Flashy Flash and an evolved Garou in combat, the former of which being well-known for his extraordinary speed among heroes, generating a geometric structure of light through the sheer speed of their clashes.[4] Upon getting more serious, he surpassed Flash's speed, leaving the hero astonished.[7] At his peak, he demonstrated the ability to combat and travel at immense speeds, exchanging hundreds to thousands of blows with an evolved Garou while creating a denser geometric structure of light across vast distances in a mere 1.3 milliseconds (0.0013 seconds).[8]Immense Durability: Platinum Sperm possesses immense toughness. He was able to withstand a surprise punch from an evolved Garou to his face which launched him into the air but left no lasting damage on him.[4] Despite taking a barrage of punches from Garou's Monster Calamity God Slayer Fist when the Hero Hunter first demonstrated it, he sustained no serious injuries.[5] Furthermore, he was sturdy enough to take multiple punches from Flashy Flash, a powerful S-Class hero, with no visible signs of damage.[9]Enhanced
